What's the statistacs on Reave's contract incentives? I honestly feel like he is not starting and playing less minutes because they are trying to stay under some threshold. I remember it being discussed previously. |

^And yes I'd love to have both of them on this squad.
Vanderbilt does fill some of that gap left by letting Caruso walk though. |

His cap hold basically increases if he plays a certain number of minutes (2000) or starts a certain number of games (40). It's only an issue if they choose to free up space under the cap which seems less likely; it doesn't affect what they can offer him. Nevertheless, unless he averages 45 minutes the rest of the season he won't reach those benchmarks so it's a non-issue altogether.
In summary, his cap-hold will be 2+ million and they will continue to have Early Bird and Gilbert Arenas rights this summer. _________________ Luxury Tax/FA Spreadsheet (Save to your Google Drive to edit) |

If this is real, that is incredible that an Oklahoma kid could be rooting for the Lakers over the KD/Russ/Harden Thunder.
It was destiny he was a Laker. |

Good that Reeves was a lakers fan growing up, but I find it odd/creepy/weird that someone actually went through his entire post history. He was what, 12-13 years old when he posted that? Barely a teenager. Turns out he also made fun of Lebron being ringless, which is what all of us did at the time. Anything for headlines and clicks I suppose. _________________ "The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong." — Gandhi |

Alex who???
Look at his number w/the Bulls
MIN: 24.1
PPG: 5.6
RBDS 3.1
ASSTs: 3.1
Reeves is WAY better and has progressed WAY faster... _________________ “Always remember... Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.” |

AC is the more physical and better defender.
But AR surpasses AC by a mile on the offensive end. At this point, I too would want AR over AC, but AC is still a defensive monster. Would have been nice to keep both TBH. Different types of players. _________________ Make the Lakers Great Again |

I have both in the same band, high level role players that could get burn in a playoff game. That’s amazing for both being undrafted. Notwithstanding health considerations, might still have AC higher but that could also be because I’ve seen him do it in the playoffs. Reaves has the higher upside and has been growing by the month. He’s only a little over 100 games into his NBA career.
If THT had played this well as a Laker, I think Rob would have maxed him out. _________________ Member: Austin “Manu” Reaves fan club. |

They are both good players. AC is better defensively and Reaves better offensively. Some of these folks on LG are mad for no reason. |

Reaves RAPTOR on offense is 1.0, defense 2.0, total 3.0
Caruso RAPTOR on offense is -0.3, defense 6.3, total 5.9
That shows that they bring different skills to the game. Both are ok offensively but Caruso brings much more defensively. _________________ If you’ve got a dream, chase it, cause a dream won’t chase you back. |

Quote: | Michael Scotto: That’s the sense I’ve gotten. You touched on some of the Brooklyn stuff. I’ll add to that very briefly. You touched on those other tradable assets the Lakers had that the Nets wanted. Austin Reaves was one of those guys that came up. I heard among the people who wanted to keep Austin in LA was Jeanie Buss. That’s a good advocate to have on your side if you’re a Laker. – via Michael Scotto @ HoopsHype

Don’t get cute and lose him for nothing like we did the other guy. He’s clearly a fan fav and he’s on other teams’ radars. Even if you don’t want to keep him at a certain price point, retain him as an asset to trade for another day.
As an early bird, his true max is ~4yr/54m (starting annual ~12m).
Scotto/Buha believe his annual salary floor is the ntpMLE of 11.6m. _________________ Not familiar with the salary cap/CBA rules & how it impacts our Lakers?

Caruso's box score stats are nothing special, but he's an elite defender. On the last DPoY ladder, they had Caruso in the tier right after the top 3 of Lopez, Mobley, and Jackson. He has a decent shot at making the all-defensive 1st team. |

The NBA better hope Reaves doesn’t pick up handles over the summer. His only weakness that I can see. Especially when pressured. _________________ “You have to dance beautifully in the box that you are comfortable dancing in.” - Kobe Bryant |

Missed some FTs but I continue to be so impressed by Austin. I'm genuinely surprised when he misses a shot. |

Caruso is awful on offense lol. He doesn't possess 1/3 of Reaves capabilities on that end. Way above Reaves on defense though. |

Austin Reaves tonight:
35 points (career-high)
9/14 FG
16/18 FT
6 rebounds
6 assists _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |
