That moment still stings. Lakers probably make it to the finals if he doesn't hit that shot. Kobe would have smoked the Clippers and Mavs.

The clocks a ticking. 10 spot is not that hard to grab but now you have to take two in a row from Minny, GSW, Mavs or Thunder. Oh sure..easy. Then take on the top seed. It's possible at full strength but I strongly recommend not to bet the house it.

Thomas Bryant is a good pickup for Denver. He's decent to good relief for Nikola Jokic. KCP is also playing well.

Brunson returns and scores 16 points in the 1st quarter against the Nuggets. He's their guy.

Might as well take the D out of Denver because they can't play defense. Teams got the memo to attack Jokic and it's working.

Nuggets are up 67-62 at the half. LET'S GO Nuggets, gotcha in my gentle men's bet today.

As I said in the game thread, mediocre teams lose a lot. So it's not like any single game is a must-win; our competition will likely also be losing a fair amount.

But giving away games like this one or the Rockets one (albeit, for different reasons) is how you end up at 11.

But also, with LeBron's health it might not even matter either way.

Bingo. It’s not our year. These losses are frustrating but a deep run was never in the cards once he went down. The focus should be building continuity for next season.

Do you expect Lebron to be healthy next season? I see him missing another 30+ games. It’s what old players do.

Day to Davis misses 30+ too but he doesn’t have the age excuse.

I think we can expect both to miss some time.

If you can manage 0.500 ball (as they have) while our stars play injury tag but dominate about 40 games they might play together then I think they'd compete for a top-4 seed in the West.

Are we rooting for a Clippers lose today or is there no chance of catching them?

THIS. It's something I've been saying for a while. We have a talented young roster. Why not start their development now, in the heat of battle?

Is Ty Lue that much better of a coach or was RW humbled?

I think that’s the calculus. The core now is much better suited to keep the lights on during the season when Bron and AD sit. The hope will be to get them healthy and ready for a push in the back third of the season. It’ll also sting a lot less for those guys to take a load management game when every game isn’t a must win.

Better roster for Russ to work with.

Westbrook is erratic and his game isn’t for everyone but he had a lot of good games with the Lakers. There were stretches this year where just about everyone was really happy with him.

They're losing to a lottery team. While playing at home. Russ is -5 with 3 turnovers.

This is generally how it’s gone for Russ on the Clippers. To his credit he’s being a good soldier and looking to pass way more than he’s looking to score. But he still can’t defend a lick and he turns it over a lot and other teams are leaving him open.

He had a lucky first quarter
Maybe only play him in the first and third

I believe he’s being benched most 4th quarters.

Now -13, by far the worst on the team. 6 TOs. They are still down and may pull it off but it will be in spite of him.

They will probably tank to avoid Phoenix and get Sac or Memphis.

Russ played 37 minutes against the Magic probably to test drive him again in 4th, now (bleep) Lue is probably going to be like yep…he’s only playing 20 min from now on

Yup while Terrence Mann gets less than 20 minutes.

But seriously, I think with Kawhi out they wanted another ball-handler/creator on the floor. If the Clips figure out a way to turn their wing/talent surplus into true PGs they'd be a lot more dangerous.

Does Dennis actually make a lot of sense there? They could easily throw their MLE his way.
