I think Beasley is a much better player than Lonnie but both haven't been lighting the world on fire. I could see a scenario where both are DNP'd in the playoffs and the minutes just go to DLO/Reaves/Schroeder.

Given the pattern of MLE signings in Klutch era, it’s safe to assume it will be given to another Klutch client in career transition.

I guess you could blame Rob for that being the cost of business in dealing with Klutch. Personally, I don’t think he’s stupid…it’s the reality of having to cater to Rich Paul so Klutch can get the Malik Monks, Lonnie Walkers, Kendrick Nunns, etc. that pay bump and spotlight for next contract.

It’s the way the Lakers FO has set this up. 99.9% of the time the MLE is going to a Klutch client looking to move on from their team.

Cost of doing business/Klutch tax.

^^^ That was going to my response. However, if the Klutch client happens to be Troy Brown then I wouldn't complain.

Would be great, but I think Troy is going to get more because he’s a 23 year old at a premium 3&D position.

If Troy agrees, they should have him sign asap lol.

Last 5 games for each:
Beasley - 16 of 48 FG 33%, 8 of 29 3pt 27%
Walker - 19 of 49 FG 38%, 9 of 27 3pt 33%

A glaring difference is:
Beasley played 26 minutes per game, 9.2 ppg
Walker played 19 minutes per game, 11.4 ppg

Begin splitting their minutes…play them about 12 minutes per game each to see which one emerges as a better contributor. Most expect Beasley to get out of his slump and that would be nice. It’s time now to consider the possibility that he may not soon so that we may need to look for other alternatives, at least for the time being. See if LW4 could get back to Nov play, 18ppg, 44% from 3.

The difference is the eye test. Defense sticks with Beasley so he provide spacing that Walker can’t. But Beasley salary is not enough to compensate with his shortcomings. If you simply talk about a role as microwave scorer , Walker will be more affordable.

Lakers tried to trade him, couldn't, but the team didn't buy him out so he's sitting here during a contract year getting no playing time. This can't be a good experience for him. He's literally losing tons of $$$ this summer.

Oh ok what was odd was while lebron is out he started getting minutes again, then got a back to back DNP so I was curious what happened

I wanted him traded however when beasley and brown are having bad games it’ll be good to give someone else a try. He might helped in that knicks loss but oh well

He lost money back when he was in the rotation and proving he’s a minimum salary player. He was always headed for a vet min this summer.

DLo's return is what happened. Lonnie is certainly much better than your average 10th/11th/12th man (certainly appreciate his ability to get hot in short bursts), but he's not a 9-man rotation player for a playoff team.

I would have liked to have LW4 included in the Mo Bamba trade with Orlando for Terrence Ross. Not that Ross is great but he would be potentially more useful at 6’6” than LW4 at 6’4” with similar 3pt shooting. Off topic…would have liked to avoid the Denver deal as well so that TBryant could be on the roster…not only for tonight against the Rockets but also…as a plan for AD load management and injury insurance as we now need for Bamba. The net cost would have been 2 less 2ndRPs than we have now but worth it.

If Beasley misses his first 3 shots, bench him for Lonnie.

Honestly give him Beasleys minutes and see if he keeps it up.

Not as one dimensional on offense and actually knocking down open shots.

This guy went from DNP's to dropping 20+ in a must win game, that one three hit made late was HUGE

Beasley better go nuclear next time he is in the game cause his mins are on the line, we don't have time to mess around and Lonnie is ready to eat

Beasley’s confidence feels shot I don’t know, he’s putting the ball on the floor which is good to have a counter, but he’s had some ugly looking shots and turnovers

Kudos to LW4 for being prepared when called into action.
Lonnie was the "NEXT MAN UP" and he did his job well!!

Stats:
20 Pts (7-12 FG/ 4-8 3PFG), 4 Rbs, 3 Stls.
