Terry Evans - Dark End Of The Street - Live At McCabes

This is a great cover of a much covered tune. Terry Evans sang on many Ry Cooder Albums with Bobby King. They also created some work together. Terry passed away 4 years ago but youtube has preserved this gem for and that's a blessing.

The edited live version of I'm Not Like Everybody Else used in one of my favorite Sopranos endings

I am finding that more and more live performances make their album versions sound like demos. This one is particularly moving by itself, and its selection for The Sopranos and the way they used it to utter perfection leaves me in awe of the wizardry behind that show.

It's one of those great songs recorded by many a great artist:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stagger_Lee including Taj's offering from his fabulous LP: De Ole Folks at Home

Great song....

Faithfully submitting a Grateful Dead version, Jerry loved this song and they played it many times:

I'll be the first to admit, I like weird music, here's one from an obscure German band, that I have on CD and love it, it's very mesmerizing...

It came across my feed today and was definitely the favorite part of tonight's drive home. Forgot how fun and clever it is.

Just saw this post again when I accidentally went to the first page of the thread . . . little did I know then that 3 years later Dave Dederer would become one of my golf buddies up here in WA.

My cousin knew one of the Ikettes. We went to Ikes home in Baldwin Hills Ca. Tina was cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, and rehearsing the Ikettes all at the same time. Ike sat on the couch and didn't lift a finger to help her. That's not an exaggeration, it's the honest truth. I believe from what I saw first hand Tina was all woman and the staple of the group. I didn't know at the time but after reading about him I believe Ike was a POS.

I’ve been taking advantage of the Ventura County fair to catch up with performers I never saw in my young adulthood. Last year it was Cheap Trick, Robin Zander still has it. Last night it was .38 Special, I really enjoyed them. I’m debating seeing Tesla or not tonight.

Got To Give It Up by Thin Lizzy

R.I.P. Phil Lynott and Gary Moore. Two of Ireland's finest. Sorely missed.

I saw Thin Lizzy many, many times. The transition from the last note of The Cowboy Song into The Boys Are Back In Town was epic. I just listened to both the other day.

I just discovered this band, Greta Van Fleet.

A lot of people compare them to a modern day Led Zeppelin which is high praise but they are terrific.

I just asked Alexa to play me some 'old school funk' and expected some Get Down on It or at least some Rick James and ended up getting Ice Cube's Friday. Does this mean I'm getting old?
