JHS is 0-9 from 3. Thought he was supposed to be a shooter…
Why? The book on him was his 3 point shot was iffy and he was streaky at best from there. The positive was that his basic stroke looked good and his ft shooting was good, so it was hopeful he’d be able to develop a three. He was really good shooting from his spots in the mid-range and shooting floaters in the paint, and he showed some nice creativity attacking the rim despite his lack of major hops but that was limited because the team he was on had zero shooters and the paint was always packed.

His more of a mid range shooter... But needs work from 3 and shot it at 30% in college. But it be easier to develop his 3 with already having a very good mid range game.
Fisher never, ever. EVER attacked the basket and finished like JHS did today.
And I know you think that JHS is going to do what he's doing now, but he's not. In his year at Indiana he was terrible at the basket, and worse at drawing fouls in the paint.
In case you haven't noticed... he's been blanked from 3 these first two games.... I think he's taken and missed like 10 3 pointers... so I would HOPE that he'd be trying to take it to the basket.

In year 2 of his NBA career of he's doing this then you have an argument that we wasted the pick. Until that time this just reads like someone (bleep) about a 19 year old rookie in an exhibition game. _________________ "If You're Afraid To Fail...Then You're Probably Going To Fail."

keegan murray is just a cheat code in the summer league
I’m surprised he’s playing. He started 78 games for a playoff team last year. Was playing 35 mpg in the playoffs.
I’m not sure how much guys can improve by playing against low levels of competition in a summer league. And there’s always the injury risk. Really surprised Kings are having him play.
It makes sense for Christie to play bc he didn’t play much during the season. But Murray got plenty of time

I’m not gonna be too high or low off of summer league games.
Indiana had very poor spacing and no shooters on their squad.
There were not many opportunities to get into the paint and if JHS did he would have to finish over or through multiple defenders.
That’s why his midrange and floater game is pretty good at his young age because the rim attempts were few and difficult.
He has a lot to improve on but don’t get why you’re so negative.
And yes he’s been shooting poorly so he’s attacked the rim to make up for it.
Aren’t we supposed to like that he’s made the adjustment?

Again I am certain that the Kings are just showing out for the fans because they are hosting the California Classic summer league. I would be actually shocked if Keegan plays one minute of the Las Vegas summer league.

Yeah, it's surprising but I think the rationale for playing him is to lead the other guys and set an example. Seems like he's doing just that, and the Kings are on fire. He clearly a tier or two above the SL cadets, so I don't expect him to play in Vegas, as TD mentioned earlier here. Reminds me of BI annihilating everyone in year 2 and then Magic promptly shutting him down at the first cramp. Gotta protect your players. _________________ Yi Jianlian Fanboy. Respect The Chair.

I don't think that Derek Fisher was a wasted pick. WTF you talking about.

Learn reading comprehension my friend.
He’s saying if Fino is struggling after year 2 then there’s an argument to be made about him being a wasted pick.

He didn’t mention Fisher at all.
He's implying I'm currently making the argument that Fino is a wasted pick and that if he's like this after year 2, I would then have an argument to make.
I'm not making the argument JHS is a wasted pick, and never have. I compared JHS as a non-shooting Derek Fisher. In other words, fundamentally sound, dependable, steady...

Lakers fall to Spurs and now head to Vegas. Notes:
*Max Christie may already be entering too good for Summer League territory.
* Colin Castleton 👀. Would like to see how he looks next to a physical 4. Soft touch, shot blocking, needs some help on the boards.
* JHS- loved the ability to finish through contact. Saw a little of the passing chops. Needs the outside shot to fall, so far the best parts of his game have come from getting into the paint.
* Max Lewis: like the skill set, still feel like we need to see more.
*Cole Swider: great shooter, but we know that. Had an excellent dish to Castleton, but may be stuck in tweener land: too slow to be a 3 and doesn’t play big enough to be a 4. Still, the shooting is elite. Keep working, because of the defense can get there he’s an NBA player.

Thanks. That 2nd one was a nice vid.
- I think Reaves and LeBron can really help JHS learn to use that width to bump his defender off balance. I see he likes to use some of the same angles Harden does to draw contact on his defender.
- Christie looks ready for some minutes with the big club.
- If we could switch offense/defense like football, Swider would be a pro player, but he's just can't do anything on D to bother his guy.
