I don't know where you get your information but it's wrong. They have won 9 in a row for regular season. This is from a 49ers website.

Quote:
It wasn’t perfect, but the 49ers used a dominating second half effort to defeat the Rams 30-23 on Sundy to improve to 2-0 on the season. With the victory, San Francisco’s ninth consecutive regular season win over their rivals, the 49ers took sole possession of the NFC West lead.

I got that stat from this insert
Quote:
1990s. The 49ers dominated the rivalry during the 1990s, winning 17 straight games against the Rams. They also won their fifth Super Bowl in 1994.
LINK I see a win from 1990 - 1998 but in the longest streak it lists the 49er's with 17.
Quote:
Longest win streak 49ers, 17 (1990–1998)
Rams, 10 (1970–1975)
Is 17 a typo? I'm confused.

I don't care about what happened in the '90s. The most recent streak is nine games. You made it sound like the most recent streak is 17 games.

Didn't mean to. I posted a Wiki account. Note I said I was confused and asked if 17 was a typo. If I offended you I apologize.

No problem Jo. It's all good.

Sean McVay said he doesn't have any updates on RB Cam Akers, but “I know (GM) Les (Snead) has talked to a handful of teams” and Akers’ agent in regards to a trade, and "that’s the direction we’re headed" with the situation.

Sean McVay said OL Joe Noteboom sustained a "deep bruise" to his shoulder vs. 49ers, but the injury is not expected to impact Noteboom's availability for Week 3 (Monday Night Football) vs. Bengals.

I realize the 0-2 Bengals should be desperate, but Burrow is looking very iffy to play, and even if he does, he's obviously nowhere near 100%. The Bengals are not 6.5 points better than the Rams.

I agree. They haven't looked good at all the first 2 games.

Wow the betting line dropped 4.5 points today. It's now Bengals -2.

That's much more like it. Tells you they don't think Burrow is going to play. Or that if he does, he's going to be a shell of himself.

The Rams are trading RB Cam Akers to the Vikings for a late-round pick swap in 2026, per source. @TomPelissero first reported the news of the trade.

Pretty much a do or die game for the Bengals season even in September.

Going to 0-3 in the very competitive AFC would make them very unlikely to make the playoffs.

How unlikely Lanny you ask?

Since the NFL expansion in 1979, only six teams have made the playoffs after starting 0-3. The last team to do it was the Houston Texans in 2018

As a result, I expect a big effort from the Bengals at home. They are -2.5 on the website I use and I like them to cover that as it is pretty close to a must win for them.

It got as low as -1 yesterday and now it's back up to -2.5, yep. The Bengals imght be desperate, yes, but if Burrow isn't right, it's still going to be a difficult game for them to win, even at home. Not that they couldn't win it, of course. But I wouldn't consider it close to an easy call. The Rams just look like the better team, at this point, if Burrow isn't going to be healthy.

Good point, Burrow needs to be reasonably effective for them to be able to win.

My thought was the rest of the team needs to pick him up here, but the Rams are playing tough right now and no doubt they could beat Cincy if the Bengals aren't all in. That includes Zac Taylor who has been outcoached the first two games.

I thought it was. I didn’t think there was sufficient evidence to overturn the call on the field. He tip toed.

Burrow can't drive the ball down the field, it's obvious, and the DB's are just sitting near the line of scrimmage. The Bengals are going nowhere this season, even if they win this game. Their entire offense is neutered with Burrow right now. The only chance they have is to let him heal for 4-6 weeks or however long it would take, and that Jake Browning is somehow good. If he's not, or if Burrow keeps playing, their goose is cooked this year.
