The fight is still on. I believe it will finally happen. Bud's last 10 fights have been KO's. I don't think he'll knock Spence out. If it goes to the score cards no telling who'll win.

Bud will KO/TKO Spence between the 8-12 rounds. I would not be surprised if he catches him early because Spence is very aggressive and leaves himself wide open to be hit on counters, which Bud specializes at. Bud will analyze Spence and feel him out in the first round, which Spence will probably win. After that, Bud will slowly figure out Spence and start hitting him cleanly. Eventually, Spence will walk into a shot that puts him down. Then, we will see if he really is The Truth based on how he responds.

I think Bud will formulate a game plan in round 1. He'll box minute 1. Look for weaknesses in minute 2. Devise a plan in minute 3. If Errol shows any fear Bud will go on the attack. He'd better be careful and not get overconfident. If it turns into a slugfest I give the edge to Bud.

Bud beat Errol up. I gave Spence 1 round. BadGuy called it. 9th round TKO.

Biggest anticipated welterweight bout since De La Hoya vs Trinidad and just as anticlimatic. The same problem Trinidad had with De La Hoya in terms of superior hand speed, Spence had with Crawford. Would have loved to see peak Mayweather vs Crawford because I dont think even De La Hoya at his absolute peak when he beat Quartey is beating Bud Crawford. Spence really got exposed to the point I dont think he beats Trinidad at his best.

Long time no see. Fight was what I figured. Bud is number one P4P for a reason and totally dwarfed Inoue’s win versus Fulton. Once Errol started fighting going backwards, I said it’s a wrap.

Jab is the most important punch in boxing and because Bud can fight both ways, when he goes Southpaw, his strongest hand becomes the jab hand. Jab was killing Spence while taking away Errol’s jab and more importantly, Bud won on the inside.

No rematch needed. And if they fought at 54, skills travel.

Spence looked drained. Can’t be at 47 for eleven years. Bud should rematch him at 54 which he would win because he’s the better boxer, he knows what to expect and it would get him ready for Charlo after his fight with Canelo.

Its like Trinidad vs Hopkins. If those 2 had fought 10 more times, it wouldnt have mattered and each time would be progressively worse. Which is funny to think of because at that time in 9/11/01, Trinidad was considered P4P best fighter in the world or #2 right behind Roy Jones. Errol has no chance against Bud in a rematch. A lopsided beating like this where its all fundamentally wrong for the loser will only get worse: Floyd Patterson vs Sonny Liston or Joe Frazier vs George Foreman

Bud ain't dodging no smoke!!! He will finish Spence at 154 before Spence even gets started at that weight class. Bud wants to beat Charlo, so he could warm up at 154 with Charlo's bff, Spence.

For a while, I was a fan of Spence until it was clear he was ducking Crawford. How are you gonna pretend to be the boogeyman in your division then avoid the smaller guy who just moved up? Now, we know why. Bud showed he is an ATG last night. Spence is a great fighter, no doubt, but Bud is special.

Didnt think I would see an ATG at the caliber of Mayweather so soon, but here we are. Clearly a class above the 90s version of the welterweight/junior welterweight 4 kings - De La Hoya, Trinidad, Mosley, Forrest. TBH, Im not sure Spence can beat any of the 90s guys, especially Oscar would have ripped his face apart similar to what Bud did here. He is tailor-made stylistically to be beaten by all of them with the exception of maybe Forrest. But Crawford Im sure could have beaten all 4 of these guys with Forrest probably his most tricky matchup.

I don't remember Forrest too much because I was pretty young at that time, but, De La Hoya, Trinidad, and probably Mosley do Spence dirty based on what I remember. Spence never seemed that smart and relied on fundamentals heavily because he seemed unable to adapt in his fights, so he wanted to leave as little room for his opponents to exploit as possible (a sound plan). His plan A was good enough for 99% of fighters in his era until he ran into Bud, who has plan A, B, C,...and Z. I thought Bud would have beaten the older Mayweather, but we know Floyd would never have taken that fight. Crawford is a fearless fighter, who is a mean, master tactician!

Did Terence Crawford vs. Errol Spence Jr. have a rematch clause? Here are the contract details

If there is a rematch I think Bud will win again easily. I think this time he will knock Spence out cold. LINK

Spence needs to delay that rematch, by like 5 years. It's his only chance.

Canelo Alvarez fights Jermell Charlo 9/30 Showtime PPV. Canelo is the bigger man. Much has been made about Charlo moving up from 154 pounds to 168. Álvarez weighed 174 lbs when he fought Angulo. I thought he was going to fight Jermall the larger brother.

Apparently he has mental health issues. Its a shame. Jermall (not Jermell) I think has the power to stop Canelo. And Canelo avoided him for years. Classic boxing shenanigans.

I will be rooting for Jermell. But I fully expect Canelo to win.

I didn't know this

Jermell Charlo is uncertain if twin brother Jermall will ever return to boxing

I've always held boxing should set up some kind of retirement plan for fighters. I know it would be complicated and difficult but if we can send a man to the moon we should be able to do it.

Canelo just walked Jermell down. Charlo knew he couldn't hurt Saul. He had the look of a defeated fighter. I gave Charlo 1 round. Classic mismatch.

Surprised Charlo didn't use his speed, reach, and movement to his advantage. I wasn't rooting for Charlo, but very surprised he didn't try to outbox Canelo since he wasn't gonna win by power.

Bye.

Saul wouldn't let him. Once he knew Charlo couldn't hurt him he just walked him down. It's the old, I'll take one to give one.

Not necessarily who hits hardest but who can take the others best shot. It appeared to me Charlo was in survival mode the whole fight.

I'm looking for Alvarez to offer Tank Davis a fight (at a catch weight). Anything other than fight David Benavides.

Tank, maybe. I don't think he wants any Benavides smoke. What's his reason for not fighting Dmitry Bivol again?

Bud would be a big money fight but I think Saul is too big for him. Bud Crawford weighs 146.8 pounds. Canelo Alvarez weighs 168 pounds. Bud has a great power punch but I don't think he can hurt Canelo. Even if Canelo comes down in weight on fight night he'd be back to 168.
