At least Wentz is a starter quality capable QB.
Whether he still has it or not, is another question. At least there is some kind of hope in the backup QB situation. The Rams just didn't want to pony up for that though.
I know that Rypien wasn't unfortunately and he was cut for that. He had his moment and didn't look average.

Hopefully the guys can put up a decent fight.

God bless Pete Carroll for settling for a 55-yard FG attempt at the end. Genuinely astonishingly stupid. After the DK Metcalf catch got them close to the Rams' 40, there was plenty of time on the clock to throw at least 2 more passes, and maybe even 3. To choose to run it on 1st down with the goal of having that be your final play before they kicked was unbelievable. I realize that Myers has the leg and that he could have made it, but how do you just settle for that? You can't run a couple more snaps and see if you can get an easy 6 or 7-yard sideline completion? Where's the harm?
They got what they deserved. |

Some good injury news. Kupp has a sprained ankle and is day to day. Kyren Williams is ready to return this Sunday at Arizona. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

The Rams are ever-so-slight .5-point favorites at Arizona. |

There is talk about Bill Belichick being traded. Looks like his time in New England has come to an end. He has a great rapport with Kraft. He will probably trade Belichick to where he wants to go. Bill might like Sunny California. The Chargers should be burning up NE phones. Maybe the Rams should also think about Bill. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Chargers make the most sense. They have the talent but don't have the discipline. Bill will shape that team up. |

OK, so if you're the Chargers, do you just give him full control of the football operation and fire Telesco too, if that's what Belichick requires? His track record lately isn't good in terms of roster building, to say the least. If he would be interested in coaching the Chargers without being the de facto GM, then yes, the Chargers would be very wise to pursue something. But it won't be cheap. The Broncos had to give up a 1st Round pick for Sean Payton, so you'd have to think that Belichick could fetch one for the Patriots, too, even if he's 12 years older than Payton is. Maybe Kraft won't play hardball though, who knows.
I think it complicates matters if Belichick is requiring full control of the football operation. But if he's merely interested in coaching only, then you'd have to think that a team with a plausible path to contention would interest him, and I could see the following teams as potential fits because they may have a coaching opening: Chargers, Bills, Falcons, Saints, Bucs, Commanders, Cowboys. Staley is almost certainly getting the axe unless the Chargers make the playoffs, and they are staring 4-7 in the face with Baltimore coming to town this Sunday, and they have a good QB in tow. Buffalo's playoff odds went up with the Burrow injury (and maybe even with the Watson injury), but I wonder if McDermott could still get canned if they were to lose their first playoff game, let's say. Obviously, turnover issues and all, Josh Allen is one of the best QB's in the league. The Falcons, Saints, and Bucs all play in a very winnable and weak NFC South, and with as terrible as Arthur Smith's usage of his best offensive players has been, I'd say his seat is the hottest for sure. Todd Bowles could be shown the door if the Bucs miss the playoffs again, as his hire was tepid in the first place; both the Falcons and Bucs would have to procure a decent QB for Belichick to have any interest in going there, imo. If the Saints don't win the NFC South this year, I think Dennis Allen is gone, and Belichick could probably post winning records there. Dallas might be the most attractive opening if it happened, as that is truly a talented roster that is now a perennial playoff team. If they fail to reach the NFC Championship Game this year, you wonder if Jerry Jones could get antsy and blow McCarthy out of there, although doing so would mean that you would need a total overhaul of the offensive staff, since McCarthy is calling the plays this year and it must be said that the offense is humming along. And this says nothing of Dan Quinn's ferocious defense, though he may leave for a head coaching gig next year regardless. Finally, Ron Rivera is even more likely than Staley is to get fired, and with new ownership in DC, who knows, maybe this is a spot where they would be OK with doing something splashy and just giving Belichick whatever he wants, including possible GM duties too. |

I would much rather have Harbaugh then Belichick if I am a NFL owner at this point.
Since I am about $3 billion short, I don't think Beli needs to worry too much about my opinion however! _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

The Vikings' loss to the Bears tonight means that the Rams, Packers, and Saints, all 5-6, are now just a half-game behind the Vikings for the final playoff spot in the NFC, and tied in the loss column. |

Awful losses to the Bengals, Steelers and Packers really sting now.
I blame Mcvay for those losses. Could be well in the hunt instead of n the outside looking in. _________________ "Dread it, run from it... destiny arrives all the same." |

Quote: | That Bears win was big for the Rams' playoff hopes.
The Rams will enter Week 13 one-half game behind the Vikings, who hold the NFC's final playoff spot. If the Rams beat the Browns on Sunday, they will be even with Minnesota at 6-6. |
Quote: | #Rams playoff odds jump to 44% per NYTimes following the Bears win over the Vikings. The Rams were sitting at 17% before Sunday. |
Quote: | #Rams take over the 7th seed this week with a win against Cleveland, Dallas win over Seattle and a Chiefs win over Green Bay. |

Man, that was a bad loss in Green Bay. Wonder if the Rams could make the 6th seed. The 7th is obviously the likely outcome if they make it.
Anything to stay away from SF.

Is that coupled with a Green Bay loss to Kansas City? Of course, Green Bay beat the Rams earlier in the year, but I don't know how the formula would work if it's the Rams, GB, Seattle, and Minnesota all tied at 6-6, or if GB is left out of that. |
