Really fun game to watch. He was dominant out there. Seemed like he had about 10 dunks tonight

Rebounds, a block and an assist to compliment the buckets. The assists will always be low but he has to at least out-rebound Prince every night. Keep it up.

Shows his potential tonight. Reminded me of playoffs Rui.

Rui is the type that needs to be put on certain situation to succeed. Unlike the other starters who can just create it for themselves.

Rui tonight showed great movement off the ball.

That's not hard. TP gets 1 reb a game

He's a great cutter. Seems like he has at least 2 cuts along the baseline that ends up in a dunk every game.

He’s so versatile he’s definitely better doing this than just simply being a spot up shooter.

I mean he's playing the Vando role on offense. He's the 5th option, as talented as he is, so teams are going to inevitably forget about him. Same way how Vando gets those cuts, Rui can too. Except Rui will also give us 3s, contested midrange bailouts, postups on mismatches, etc...

He should have been doing that against Denver. Hopefully he stays aggressive from here on out

The papers are saying Rui is the key to our championship aspirations. That’s a lot of weight on his shoulders, but they’re big enough, right?

They look completely different with Rui. They aren’t chucking 3’s.

Rui was staring Ham in the face all year and he doesn’t start really giving him minutes until the end of January? After the Lakers signed him to a multi year deal and the playoffs he had last season?

That in itself is almost a fireable offense. Ham was starting Prince on a minimum deal over this guy. Complete idiocy.

Completely agree. And it wasn't like lineups with Rui next to Lebron and AD are only now just working - they have been extremely positive all year long and even last season though the playoff run. I'm convinced the Lakers would have at least five more wins if they had just started Rui from the beginning of the season. And that's probably being conservative.

Also agreed. I believe the general consensus is that Ham/coaching staff were galaxy braining the lineups, too hard.

Granted, some of that is understandable. The Lakers have been gung-ho about surround LeBron/AD with proven shooters. And, while Rui's 3-ball has been better than expected, Prince is the more proven pure shooter from the arc. Add that to the Lakers insistence on exclusively running EXTREMELY simplistic 5-man-wide-ot sets only...this further minimized Rui's offensive potential. As another poster pointed out, using Rui as only a spot up shooter is a case study in diminishing returns.

Now that the Lakers have placed the ball more into DLo's hands as an initiator, and running more ball/player motion in their offense, you see guys like Rui beginning to shine. Better late, than never.

We still have fans pissing and moaning about not having a three point specialist on the roster. Trade agendas for Buddy Hield, Bojan Bogdanovic, etc. Meanwhile, Rui is the opposite, old school elite mid-range shooter (looks like Kawhi), replacing Taurean, the spot up three point shooter.

It's odd to see someone as big and strong as he is also be a pure shooter.

Even AD said in an interview..having Rui/LBJ/AD in starting lineup, will have a size mismatch somewhere. For example, against Detroit Rui was attacking his shorter man several times.

Even AD knew what the starting lineup should be.

Been on the Rui > Prince train since early on in the season.

Glad it’s finally come to reality.

So happy for Rui! I was cheering for him when he hit 30 and then passed his career high. That man was cheesing! A healthy Rui, starting with a good amount of shots is DEADLY. We need to utilize him to his full potential. Glad Rob stole him from Washington and that Rui survived the trade deadline.

Maybe it's the homer in me, but I'd love to Keep Rui, AR and DLo for years to come. Those three bleed purple and gold.
