Where? DLO is a better PG, benching Reaves would be an idiotic move. Years and years of watching posters overrate new players then complain when they aren’t all that. Things never change.

You might be right, and it's not because he's awesome and better than D'Lo or Reaves, it's because Ham can be pretty stupid. He loves him some low priced journeymen, and gives them all the minutes.

SD’s biggest strengths are getting to the rim and playmaking. His assist to tov ratio is actually pretty nice. Just a year ago he avg’d a 9/2.

Cons is he likes to settle for jumpers, although he’s a 45% 3-point shooter on corner 3s, but everywhere else not so good.

Just be ready for the inevitable 3-guard lineup. Can work but not against bigger teams like Ham did against Denver last year when he played Dlo, Schro, AR.

“Darvin Ham said that he envisions using Spencer Dinwiddie in three-guard lineups next to D’Angelo Russell and Austin Reaves. He said he could see the Lakers closing with those lineups at times.”

reaves - 6'4 with a 6'6 wingspan, 197 lbs

prince - 6'6 with a 6'11 wingspan, 218 lbs

Dinwiddie is 6 5 and 3 inch difference in wingspan is pretty significant, but point taken.

Thought DLO and Reaves were 6’5? Which making the 3 guard line-up with Dinwiddie manageable because you get 3 guys around 6’5-6’6 next to Lebron/AD

Sure but playing Prince at small forward next to two guards has been Ham’s biggest mistake all season long. Every other coach in the NBA would see Dinwiddie as the obvious backup point guard to Russell and nothing more on most nights. The fact that Ham’s already salivating at playing a dude with a shorter wingspan than Prince at small forward next to two unathletic, defensively deficient guards is quite alarming.

Of course! Why would I think otherwise. I thought one look at Prince and Ham would be quick to make sure that wouldn’t happen.

Hamm has brought Dlo off the bench. sat him in 4ths. It just seems like he isnt settled on Dlo as a starter regardless of how hes playing.

either way, Spencer is a lot bigger than Dennis, Gabe, Tyus Jones and the like, so at least this is plausible.

Again, a great pick up for the Lakers.
I don't see the negative here. He was a really good player that thankfully chose the Lakers.
He's cheap - low cost, low risk - possible high reward.
He seems inspired to be here. To play with some of his former teammates must also be nice for him. Playing with Lebron and Davis has to be exciting..
Playing in the house that Kobe and Shaq built, seeing all the jerseys, the trophies, it has to be inspiring.

Welcome Spencer.
