I knew he was battling Parkinson's Disease but he died of a heart attack so he was spared the inevitable decline.

One of the best. Also one of those guys who had a distinct personality. So glad we got one more season of Curb to watch him work.

First saw his comedy in HBO stand-up specials in the late 1980's, and then in Anything But Love with Jamie Lee Curtis in the early 90's. We've seen neurotic comedic personas before, but his brand of humor just seemed so different; he was honest and frenetically hilarious. And then on Curb, of course he was great as well. He was a true talent who will be greatly missed. |

I was on a flight with him years ago. He's exactly the dude we see on TV and in his act.

What made him fascinating to me was that he always looked unwell going back to the 90s in stand ups and on Curb, and it was because he always struggling with addiction and his overall health.
I'm glad he made it this far. RIP.

I never connected with his stand up, but on Curb and from what I could see of him as a person, he was lovely and unique.

Said he couldn’t go on the American way
Closed the shop, sold the house, bought a ticket to the West coast
Now he gives them a stand-up routine in LA
