Look at the recent success of Tim Connelly GM of the Minnesota Timberwolves, who was key to building their current amazing and deep roster, and previously, headed up the Denver Nuggets, where he also put together a championship level roster.

Year after year, I am amazed by the terrible decisions that our front office makes: from letting valuable trade assets finish their contracts then just walk away to sign with other teams with no value in return, to dumb trades and terrible signings, bungling of draft picks, mismanagement of head coaching hires (7 head coaches in 15 years). it's a mess.

The Lakers should have the best front office in the business not a clown show.

No. Rob is doing what he can with the limitations that the organization has. In the past year or so he has done an excellent job of building player value. After the Westbrook debacle this team had little except two aging stars that we hogging salary cap.

This year they won the mid season tournament and could have beat the Nuggets if they were healthy.

I agree with this. I get a sense that there a lot of behind the scenes powers in the organization.

Not all Laker history. Just the showtime Lakers of 40 years ago, when our fearless leader was in her prime and bearing her boobies for all to see in PlayBoy.

I'm going to wait til after the upcoming season to make a final determination as to whether we need a new front office. With hopefully a healthy Vando, Vincent, Wood returning, and I believe three frps at our disposal, and whatever changes are made like the coach, etc.,.

With strong reservations, I'll reserve judgment for one more season.

Last thing. Ballmer is showing us what we're missing from an owner: the willingness to do whatever it takes to win. Jeanie, your cute, but my sincerest desire is to see you sell the team.

The NBA landscape has changed, but you haven't.

Myers is not much better than Rob... not sure why the love affair with him. Wiseman. Overpaying Wiggins. A culture that allows Draymond to act the way he does/did. Didn't maximize Steph's window.

If you want a transformative guy, Connelly is the guy. Dude built Denver into a perennial contender then built Minny as the kryptonite to beat them. '

Jeanie has to drop the insecurity about letting outsiders in and give a guy like him full basketball control. But alas - she won't. Rob is likely here for another 5-10 years.

There's a reason Myers left the Warriors... Lacob has over ride a lot of the decision makings. The Wiseman pick was one of them, I believe Myers wanted Lamelo. He wanted to draft Sengun also. Not sure Wiggins was such an overpay specially after what he did in 2022 Finals for them. The same as Poole. Draymond is also one of the reason why he left the Warriors.

Myers wanted to make moves. But Lacob wanted to hang on to the young guys and think he can win with both.

Interesting that he was advising the Commanders during the NFL draft. Nothing to do with this thread but I found it interesting.

And didn’t maximize Steph’s window? 4 titles in 9 seasons, holy crap!

How is it that so many people forget the two massive mistakes Pelinka made that destroyed this team's chances at winning more than a single championship?

Yes, Westbrook was one of them.

The second was in overpaying for Davis, a catastrophic mistake that we are still suffering from today! No way we should have had to add draft picks (nonetheless four) to make the Davis trade when we were already giving up multiple top lottery picks (Ingram, Ball, De'Andre Hunter) and Josh Hart. Davis was going to leave the Pelicans the following year for nothing and no other teams were bidding for him! But there went our foolish Pelinka forking over everything we had, bidding against himself!

Yeah, count me as one who wants to clean house in the front office!

I thought he's biggest mistake was not bringing back that 2020 team.

Which led to all the decisions above.

Disagree. The upgrades he made to the 2021 made us just as good if not better. Injuries are what derailed that season, not roster construction. Like half of the key contributors from that 2020 squad are either out of the league or completely cooked.
