Jonathan Givony of Draft Express said there was “some Wonderlic type (bleep) people were worried about”.

I saw a piece on his parents and they said he was academically ineligible coming out of high school so that’s part of the reason he went the JUCO route. So he probably is dumb, but nobody cares as long as he can play ball.

That's not necessarily a sign he's dumb. People underachive academically for a lot of different reasons.

You guys ever hear KCP in interviews? Yet, we all want him back, right? Some people just can't articulate. So don't participate in the playa hate!

Screw Klay Thompson, we got DK! He may have taken Dalton's minutes clanking away, and if gets benched, probably mope away like he did in GS.

Ya'll need to stop overanalyzing a introverted kid doing big media interviews for the first time and focus on how amazing it is we have him.

Keep in mind **this** is who we would have missed on had we traded our pick the way some wanted us to.

Reaves says Kobe is better than LeBron and his preferred player between them.

Rookie of the year.

Wouldn't be surprised if he won it just based on being more NBA ready than anyone in the draft and his shooting should translate easily

I think you really have to factor him into this team's evaluation. The addition of Knecht and the subtraction of Cam and Prince should be an upgrade that results in more wins.

Hope he does well but I fear the expectations are excessive considering defensive challenges and possibly a struggle to intellectualize the schemes for switching that could make it worse. It’s not hard to find 3pt shooters that do nothing else but still, the Lakers had to take him after falling so far down the draft. I’m just in a watch and see mode instead of giddy like most. I’ve seen him already predicted as a starter by some and for rookie of the year. Again, hope that’s right but it seems highly unrealistic to me.

KCP has a stuttering disability, he’s not dumb.

Dalton was a very clear cut ROY candidate. And fell to us at 17. That's something to be giddy about.

You’re right. In the same piece, his parents said he just never paid attention to his schoolwork because he was always playing ball. Worked out just fine for him.

Rough first SPL game today in the first three quarters. Not sure if they’ll play the starters in the 4th so might not be time for him to turn it around. Another game tomorrow, though, so hopefully he’ll do better.

Glad he played in the 4th and started attacking the basket successfully.

Getting confidence in that aspect of his game at this level is very important. He did it good in college but this is a different level. So him seeing that he can is a very good thing. He got more confident with it late and it was good to see.
