Welp, all the decent free agents continue to go off the board while Rob sleeps at the wheel, not wanting to cut irrelevant salary

Detroit has a roster spot open perhaps they don’t mind taking on Reddish or in a bigger move.. absorbing DLO

At some point the free agent options won't justify the exception money. At best, maybe Toronto doesn't facilitate any trade and we get Trent Jr for the exception. Even then, how big of an asset are we giving for Detroit to take on almost 19M?

19M for a team who is thirsty to add as much veteran players as possible won’t be a issue, DLO doesn’t have a toxic contract don’t confuse other teams not valuing him because he’s not as Impactful as the rest of the talented players

Brandon Ingram continues to seek a contract extension reaching $200+ million, per @WindhorstESPN on @ESPNCleveland.

The Pelicans have been unwilling to go that number in negotiations, and there doesn’t appear to be much interest elsewhere for Ingram at that figure.

but but some of you want him to come back here and play for pennies. LOL.
He's not getting $200 million. Not when he can't stay healthy.

His agent is just looking out for him, but deep inside I'm sure BI knows he has to not be so injury prone and start shooting more 3s. The latter is non-negotiable in today's game. If he does get moved, it will be around the trade deadline, but Pels will want to evaluate how he fits in with DJM first, not that the Pels are going anywhere anytime soon.

I don't blame BI at all... Pels did give Zion max extension despite missing a whole season cause of injuries.

Ingram's not the type of 3 the Lakers need IMO. They need a 3 that is comfortable making plays off the ball with his athleticism and 3 point shooting and then defensively focusing in on the tougher defensive assignment between his man and Lebron's.

Ingram is more of a high usage player, one that will hold the ball quite frequently to make plays. His usage has 27, 29, 30%. In LA around AD/Bron, it would be closer to 20.

Nothing against Ingram. I mean if the deal was Rui + Vanderbilt for Ingram, I'd do it. However I can't see them wanting to do that. I think they'd move Ingram for at least 2 FRPs.

Players are gonna have to start finding this kind of contract negotiation hardball to not be an insult.

To be fair to Ingram, guys who have put up numbers on mostly mediocre teams have gotten paid. *Looks at Bradley Beal*

I think everything is working against him in his situation though. The CBA is tightening things up in terms of spending. And, the Pelicans are trying to be competitive. The Wizards weren't and also didn't have anybody else to pay.

Both Beal and Ingram are great players, all they do need to work on is staying healthy and they will help almost any team in the NBA

Ingram averaged 27 PPG the post-season prior, but then had a bad post-season when he was injured and wasn't healthy and suddenly people treat him like he's garbage.

Lakers should go after Kessler so we can have a Young, Defensive Center to play alongside AD (PF).
1 FRP is worth it. Add Reddish, JHS, Wood.

Saw a report that Jazz turned down a trade offer with two 1st round picks for Kessler.

They were probably some crappy first round picks, like 2029, and 2031. Too far in the future to move the needle.

It's weird how contracts work these days. Franz Wager basically got 224 million on star potential, even though he's more or less a glorified role player right now. OG is less durable than BI, but got 212 million for being a 2-way player. There's no way people can tell me with a straight face he's worth that much, especially considering his injury history. Josh Hart is the better all around player than OG, and he got 4 yr / 80 million.

Ingram may not get that much right now, but he significantly increases his chances if he stays healthy and starts shooting 3s again. He must go back to the player he was 2 years ago. It's recency bias with him right now, and teams are looking at that OKC performance and thinking he isn't worth that much, even though he came back to soon from an injury. Pels should have just sat him like the Clippers did with Kawhi. Next season will be telling of how much a team should offer him. Maybe he has a revelation and magically fixes his durability problems.

However, the blood clot thing when he was here was a warning sign, and it nearly ended his career. Something is clearly not right with that man's body, and he needs outside interventions to fix it. It does not help that the Pels are a bottom-dwelling organization that have no hope or expectations of going anywhere. Their approach to Zion and BI reminds me of that insanity quote: doing the same things over and over again and expecting differently results. Their fans are delusional, and the media continues to coddle Zion.

They were supposedly crappy Knick picks. They own several that are highly protected and will likely convey as SRPs. Ainge isn't going to accept fake FRPs for Kessler.
