Ignore the media, ignore the polls, talk to your friends about Project 2025, register people to vote, volunteer for a campaign (either a specific politician or Indivisible), donate money, make phone calls, help write post cards, volunteer to go door to door. Spread the truth and facts instead of the media's self-serving doom and gloom cycle.

The right-wing extremist candidates in both the UK and France were overwhelmingly ahead in their respective polls right up until the election. No one gave the middle/left coalition a chance in hell of winning. BOTH countries overwhelmingly REJECTED RIGHT WING FACISM and voted to keep Democracy.

With a lot of hard work, and less hand-wringing, that's what will happen here in November.

And I know I have to keep reminding people: WOMEN DID NOT FORGET that they had their right to abortion, privacy and bodily autonomy stripped away. Just because the MEDIA is not talking about it, and intentionally doesn't poll the question extensively, doesn't mean the issue disappeared. Women are mad. They do not want to become second-class citizens or worse. The Democratic base is mad. And they know who they are mad at and it's not Joe Biden or Kamala Harris.

Stay focused on who the real enemy is. And I mean that word in every sense of the word. Trump and his enablers, the Republican Party, right-wing white nationalists, Nazis, billionaires and the media that enables them.

After one of his strongest speeches at the NATO summit yesterday -- which should put to bed AGAIN the notion that he has some kind of impairment, here's today's schedule:

Quote:
Chris D. Jackson @ChrisDJackson

President Biden’s schedule today: non-stop from 10 am to past 8 pm.

Meanwhile, what's Trump up to? Why does the media only expect one candidate to prove their stamina and energy?

FULL SPEECH: President Joe Biden passionately defends democracy, NATO, Ukraine, and rips Putin in a powerful speech at the NATO summit in Washington DC.

NEW: introducing @CookPolitical's Biden vs. Trump national polling average, which tracks the presidential race via a curated average of 21 national polls.

Trump’s current 47%-44% lead is the most drastic shift in the race all year. My full analysis:

Meanwhile, Trump came out of his hole after 15 days in hiding for another completely unhinged, rambling, gaff-filled rally. He read it (badly) off a teleprompter and still made many flubs. It was at his own golf club where people waited all day in 100-degree heat and he was still an hour late. At his own golf club so he can charge his campaign for renting the venue so he can funnel campaign donations directly into his own pocket.

Here are some examples of actual cognitive impairment:

Quote:
Aaron Rupar @atrupar

Trump in Doral: "A waitress came over, beautiful waitress, and I never like talking about physical. She's beautiful inside. Because you never talk about a person's look. Ever. You never mention it. The other day I got very angry. Some man called Chris Christie fat. And I said, 'sir!' And then he said he was a pig. I said, 'sir! Chris Christie is not a fat pig. Please remember that.'"

Trump constantly objectifies women and focuses on their looks (good or bad). He also freely shames others for their looks -- despite his own spray on tan, fake hair, and oversized suits to disguise his bulk.

Quote:
Trump in Doral: "Mothers will never again be forced to watch their children overdosing and hosp--lee. And we will never allow mothers to watch their child hopelessly dying in their arms, screaming, 'What can I do? What can I do? Help me God, what can I do?' We are a nation whose once revered airports are a dirty, crowded mess."

Airports are just fine and no one knows what kind of mess in his brain created this word salad fear mongering that's not connect to any other specific topic.

Quote:
Trump in Doral: "We will take over the horribly run capital of our country in Washington DC ... right now if you leave Florida -- 'oh, let's go darling, let's look at the Jefferson Memorial' ... and you end up getting shot, mugged, raped. We're gonna take over our capital and we're gonna run it tough and smart."

Violent crime is down 30% in DC.

Quote:
Trump in Doral claims that his son Don Jr "has a great wife" (Don Jr is not married)

If Biden "forgot" such a tidbit, the media would be on it for WEEKS. Don Jr. is divorced and dates Gavin's ex, Kimberly G.

Quote:
Trump: "But when people who love our country protest on January 6 in Washington, they become hostages unfairly imprisoned for long periods of time. But fortunately, the Supreme Court has just ruled and they should be out soon."

In Trump's mafia-fueled brain, the criminals and insurrectionists are the heroes who should be let out of prison, for pardoned. Authoritarians frequently recruit criminals to join their ranks so they can form a private military to protect them.

Quote:
Trump: Yes oh yes and quickly seys President Trump

Reading off teleprompter he accidentally reads his own name out loud and misprounces the word "says." video

He also said the media lies when they say he rambles -- he then proceeded to ramble through another whole Hannibal Lecter riff, and I guess was comparing immigrants to cannibals? Who knows, it didn't make any sense except to him. I saw the clip last night but can't find it now.

David Gura @davidgura

David Zaslav, the CEO of CNN’s parent company, at the Allen & Co. media conference in Sun Valley, Idaho, on Tuesday:

Quote:
Asked about the upcoming presidential election, Zaslav said it mattered less to him which party wins, as long as the next president was friendly to business.

“We just need an opportunity for deregulation, so companies can consolidate and do what we need to do to be even better,” he said.

The rich media owners only care about making more and more money. They do not care about Democracy. They do not care about the American people. They do not care if the earth burns, as long as there is no regulation on them and they pay lower taxes. Consolidation and control of the oligarchy is what led to the Great Depression caused by Republicans and which took Democrat FDR to fix. Republicans have been trying to un-do these fixes ever since.

DO NOT EVER VOTE FOR ANY REPUBLICAN. THEY ALL THINK THIS WAY. SELF-SERVING GREED FOR THEM, NOTHING FOR YOU.

You are trying awfully hard to convince people that Biden is up to the task. You are passionate in this. Herein, with most as liberals or progressives or both, I wonder if your words do little to erase the horror of Biden's debate performance. No matter what you say, it does not erase what my eyes and ears saw and heard. And I want as desperately as you to defeat Trump.

But if I, someone who believes Biden has done a great job thus far, have doubts, what do the myriad of middle America think? Unfortunately, the polling suggests that the memory of Biden's debate failure, when many had doubts to begin with, shows a sinking ship. And even more unfortunately, the opposite of a rising tide lifts all ships looks to be equally true, that keeping Biden is impacting the House and Senate races.

There may be no stopping Trump's momentum, handed to him on a silver platter by Biden. No matter what you say, this can't be denied.

I can't help but feel a trifecta for Trump is doom, and I don't believe Biden will be able to erase his debate failure with enough of the American people. Those moments will go on in infamy. Yes, there are no great alternatives, but I for one, believe there is a better chance with someone else.

I believe Biden will in in November. For me personally, there is no downside to believing that.

I am giving people facts and information. What people choose to do with it is up to them.

Indivisible Guide

We know Democratic politicians aren’t going to defeat Trump and MAGA on their own. Our plan to step up and help win in November? Meet voters where they are.

Indivisible has locally-led volunteer groups in every state across the country. They are made up of teachers, nurses, and working-class people just like you who live in the same communities as the swing voters we need to reach in battlegrounds. That’s where you come in — we need the full strength of this grassroots movement to fuel this people-powered work.

Will you join us? Chip in $20 today to fund the movement taking on MAGA and Trump?

Then to help make sure that happens, maybe give a small donation to Indivisible so they can talk to swing voters in swing states to ensure Democratic wins up and down the ballot.

Vote for the Democratic candidate or get this:

Quote:
No Lie with Brian Tyler Cohen @NoLieWithBTC

Tonight at his rally, Trump:

—Said he told NATO allies he wouldn’t defend them against Russia
—Praised Hannibal Lecter, a fictional cannibal
—Promised to appoint a Project 2025 leader to his administration
—Promised to round up immigrants into mass detention camps
—Said he didn’t know what NATO was when he was president
—Praised the Supreme Court for giving him criminal immunity
—Promised to pardon January 6 insurrectionists
—Praised a self-described white nationalist
—Played QAnon music

This all deserves more media coverage.

The stress of this election is unbelievable, it’s probably taking years off my life. It’s crazy to me we’re in a situation where Trump is the favorite to win. Like how is it even possible this man can win the election again after what we went through with him? How is it possible knowing the plans republicans have for this country that so many people want to vote for him or are planning on staying home? It’s like watching the moments before a car crash in slow motion, where you know how bad it will be.

It just leaves a pit in my stomach every day. If I wake up early, I can’t go back to sleep because my mind wanders towards the election and the threat of Trump winning. Normally this time of year with the summer heat, I start thinking of how nice the holidays will be with cooler weather and family. Now all I can think about that time is it will be after the election, but before the inauguration, and how horrible of a time it will be if Trump wins and we’re all waiting for the inevitable disaster looming on January 20th.

CL’s posts make me feel a bit more hopeful that maybe we can stop this, so I’m glad to see them every day.

Sorry for the Facebook level rant that doesn’t add much to the discussion, just had to get it out.

Just to reiterate since it got buried already:

BIDEN TOOK A COGNITIVE TEST AS PART OF HIS ANNUAL PHYSICAL JUST A FEW MONTHS AGO AND PASSED. HIS DOCTOR RELEASED HIS FULL MEDICAL RECORDS. He is in very good shape for someone his age and he exercises every day and bikes frequently. He walks stiffly because he has neuropathy in his feet. He doesn't wear a fake spray-on tan or die his hair or wear a fake head piece. His voice has never been a strength, he has a stutter, and yes he sounds older. He's an older version of himself. He's not a drooling, incoherent fool who suddenly lost a lifetime of wisdom and ability to get things done. He has the kind of break neck schedule that most of us couldn't carry out. He would not be able to do 20 public events in 7 days if he were as cognitively impaired as the media makes him out to be. There are videos of him speaking every day, to crowds, off the cuff, some on teleprompter, some with just notes. I have even posted links to all the videos so you can watch for yourself and not take my word for it. An entire speech delivered flawlessly to the NATO gathering. He's sounded completely lucid and rational. Use your common sense.

Trump, on the other hand, *tells* people he scored "A+" on his cognitive test, which isn't even a thing. And no proof or any medical records for Trump have been released. He doesn't exercise, eats an unhealthy diet, apparently takes uppers, has wild mood swings, tweets long unhinged rants and threats in the middle of the night when he should be sleeping. And the media and newspapers have NOTHING TO SAY. Double standard, much?

If you're stuck on the stretch of the debate where Biden had a brain-fart while the orange fake tan guy, probably pumped up with drugs, lied and blustered like the socipoath he is, then I don't know what to tell you. Except use your common (bleep) sense.

Ouch..... Et, Tu, Brute?

Quote:
George Clooney: I Love Joe Biden. But We Need a New Nominee.

By George Clooney
Mr. Clooney is an actor, director and film producer.
I’m a lifelong Democrat; I make no apologies for that. I’m proud of what my party represents and what it stands for. As part of my participation in the democratic process and in support of my chosen candidate, I have led some of the biggest fund-raisers in my party’s history. Barack Obama in 2012. Hillary Clinton in 2016. Joe Biden in 2020. Last month I co-hosted the single largest fund-raiser supporting any Democratic candidate ever, for President Biden’s re-election. I say all of this only to express how much I believe in this process and how profound I think this moment is.
I love Joe Biden. As a senator. As a vice president and as president. I consider him a friend, and I believe in him. Believe in his character. Believe in his morals. In the last four years, he’s won many of the battles he’s faced.
But the one battle he cannot win is the fight against time. None of us can. It’s devastating to say it, but the Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the fund-raiser was not the Joe “big F-ing deal” Biden of 2010. He wasn’t even the Joe Biden of 2020. He was the same man we all witnessed at the debate.

This seems doable. Biden won 2020 popular vote by 4.4 points.

Quote:
There's a new chart on the 538 forecast showing the divide between the Electoral College and popular vote for 2024. Currently the forecast suggests Biden would need to win the popular vote by 2 points to win the election, a decline compared to 2020 projects.fivethirtyeight.com

I am on Twitter with the Black woman base of the party and the liberal base of the party. THEY ARE ALREADY COMPLETELY SUPPORTING BIDEN. The media and pundits and rich-white democratic men want you to believe that all is lost. It's bull-(bleep). Biden is already doing what he needs to do. He promotes his record, attacks Trump for Project 2025, defends democracy, promotes codifying Roe. Now it's up to us to help him by focusing on the good things he has done and will do in the future. And tell our friends the choice is between Old Joe and Democracy or Old Trump and Dictatorship. That's it.

So how will they feel if Biden is essentially pushed out of the nomination at this point? It looks like a coup d'état is taking place in real-time.

It is too risky to oust Biden at this point. That is suicide for the Dem Party. I mean, you put in Harris, she is so unpopular. They can't and won't bump Biden. If you do, you better be picking a candidate that would be an overwhelming favorite and I don't think there is one....

We tend to disagree often and here is no exception. There is more than one way to look at this situation. You should try to realize it is not your way or the highway.
