Any game with this piece of garbage and the other piece of garbage called Buehler is a "trap" game |
The funny thing is these two are trying their best to make a case to be on the October roster. LOL. |
Yeah this is something I think only those guys believe in. The FO has decided as far as I’m concerned. It would have to be a massive turnaround and even though Buehler has been good the last 2 starts his stuff is still nothing to get too excited about. Again, I think he figures it out but it will be next year. 3 more starts he has, I think it’s too much to ask of him to go out there and dominate. Best case he’s able to duplicate his last two starts. He’s behind Stone right now, no way I see him overtaking him. Just not enough time. Bobby I think is officially done for when it comes to October.
Here’s the thing though: you can never have too many starters. Question marks with Yamamoto and Glas are still there. I think we’re just being cautious but you never know. The way it’s going it might be Flaherty game 1. |

Yeah, he's behind Stone (in the reg season).
I think it's possible we carry 5 starters in a 7 game series (NLCS & WS).
4 starters and 1 long reliever.
There will be games when we have to take a starter out early, and that's when the 5th starter comes in handy.
Stone could be that guy. If he starts and runs into trouble early, Buehler could hop on in. Or vice versa.
There's a good possibility that game 4 in a 7 game series will be on the road. And in that instance, I could see the Dodgers choosing Buehler over Stone (with a very short hook). |

2) If he's that predictable, I still don't know who's at fault. Is it the catcher, him, or our pitching coach? Someone's calling these predictable pitches, right? |
I'm sure Smith and Barnes sees this. Either Bobby is waiving the pitch off or he is just throwing it on his own. Or they know that he is going 4seam so at least they call the location. Hitters know it's coming especially after he puts a runner on base and is behind in count. Yesterday during the game Karros was mentioning this too. He was saying something like with Miller you don't need to steal signs because the hitters know what is going to come next. |

Nice. Feels like we got a bonus. A win yesterday would have made it much better. |

I heard Imanaga lines up to pitch against us on Tuesday. Yamamoto is scheduled to pitch that day also. Yamamoto vs Imanaga is going to be insane for fans in Japan. Oh and of course there's Ohtani. It's gonna be one of the biggest game in Japan if this happens. |

Padres lost. And the Padres were up 3-0 in the top of the 9th with Suarez in, the Tigers loaded the bases, and on a 3-2 pitch with 2 outs, Meadows went oppo to hit a grand slam. We'll take it. |

We have a 5-game lead on the Padres with 22 to go. We lead them by 6 in the loss column. Arizona is 5.5 back (6 in the loss column also). We are now tied with the Phillies for the best record, as both teams are 84-56. The Brewers are 81-59 so both us and the Phillies lead the Brew Crew by 3. |

Wildcard race is pretty tight.
Padres 80-62
Dbags. 79-62
Braves. 76-64
Mets. 76-64
Still good chance Dbags or Padres to drop out. |

Dodgers: (84-56)
- Conservative estimate, we go (12-10).
- That gives us a (96-66) record.
- For reference, in our last 22, we’ve gone (15-7).
- If we go (16-6), we’ll finish with 100 wins. That’s 5 consecutive years (not counting the 60 game season).
Padres: (80-62)
- They would need to go (16-4) to finish at (96-66).
- They own the tiebreaker against us.
- For reference, in their last 20, they’ve gone (11-9).
D’backs:(79-62)
- They would need to go (18-3) to finish at (97-65).
- We own the tiebreaker vs them.
- For reference, in their last 21, they’ve gone (12-9).
……..
Remaining NL West games:
- SD @ LAD (3 games)
- SD @ ARI (3 games)

I really wanna see the Dodgers give Edgardo Henriquez a shot
Since being promoted to OKC: 1.86 ERA, 1.68 FIP, 36.6 K%, 7.3 BB%
The 22-year-old climbed through the minors this season for a reason. He's Rule 5 eligible in the offseason, you might as well see what he's got now.

On pace for 97 wins. Won't be easy to hit 100. 13 of last 22 games are against above .500 teams...including 3 games against SD. Gotta dominate the 9 games against the Marlins and Rockies.
Hope Steven Kwan continues his hitting nosedive against us in the next 3. _________________ KOBE |

I feel like this is the kind of thing that needed to happen to finally end the Padres insane comeback run. Let’s hope this puts them into a tailspin. |

Oh boy. Gavin Stone is being placed on the IL with right shoulder inflammation. Game 4 as of now would be Walker and potentially game 3. Scary times. |

Well the copium says it’s a phantom stint to preserve him for the playoffs. Just as it was with Glasnow. The half glass empty outlook though is scary. The benefit of having a lead/good record is so we can make moves like these with pitchers and even hitters. I’m not a fan of it. Let’s assume our playoff chokes are not because of this so called disease our FO/Dave has but because they aren’t playing meaningful games with their full lineup late. Based off that I hate this whole “just be ready for the playoffs” approach. We’re going to get what, 1 maybe max 2 runs with our full rotation before the playoffs? That can’t be good. |

Friedman says he’s not going to rule out Stone returning this season.
Will be shut down for 10 days and then will see how he feels. He had discomfort after this last start. This is not looking good. Need Walker to continue trending up (I still wouldn’t feel comfortable with him in the playoffs unless there’s a dramatic turnaround) and Kersh to come back asap (which a lot of you are also not in favor of).
Either way we are screwed. The important thing is the health of the top 3 (glad Yama Jack). I’ll take whatever comes after I guess. |

Of course Stone is hurt. Has any starter not missed time? I guess a couple of guys with less than 10 starts but I should just assume everybody will be injured and consider it a bonus if they play. |

I think giving starters a rest makes a lot of sense so I hope that is what is going on with Stone and Glasnow. I don’t like the chances of this team at all if Glasnow and Stone are out of gas in the first round of the playoffs.
Also every time a guy starts is a chance he gets hurt so this minimizes the chances of that. You can’t eliminate that chance, but it still can be good to lower the chances of an injury, especially with how hard pitchers throw these days. |
