We can act like naive fans and believe anything is possible or we can go off of the precedent that has been well established. It's a team that will win plenty of games in the regular season but the regular season is not the playoffs.
When you swap Rui with Vando you get a more balanced team with a top defense and above average offense. That team would be a contender if you can do something with Vando on offense as well as D'lo in general once the screws get tightened and the weaknesses of these types of players get magnified. But this isn't guesswork or "you never know" type of empty analysis. There's a well documented formula for winning in the NBA and the Laker version of that depends on Max/Gabe/Vando being 2 way players because they are the only role players who've shown that potential. |
This is the best response. Its going to be another year of Play-in mediocracy. RUI is what he is. Same with DLO, AR... i mean we already saw this movie before lol. DLO, RUI, AR... all getting cooked on defense... & not making up for it on the offensive side of the ball. Vando going down again. Is Dimwiddie still here? Sigh what a clown show last year was. Nevermind ...Im just rambling... |

I actually think this team will have an elite offense and go over their expected win total. It's defense/health that are question marks. This should be an entertaining team with an offense that enables them to compete against anyone in the regular season. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points." |

And this is gonna land heavily on the shoulders of AD.
He was the healthiest ever last year playing the most games (76) in his career. Do I except that same number or thereabouts? Probably not. I lean more towards it being an anomaly and just hope that maybe adopting his new workout regimen last off-season changes the whole Day to Davis narrative. He's also coming off the Olympics so how's that going to play out? Point is, no AD and we're fked. You lose our whole defense and our 1A/B on offense. I hate to pin it on one dude but we're not having this conversation without a healthy Anthony Davis. _________________ The butter's hard and the eggs are chillin' in the dark.

as it should. 43m per year and our other 50m per year. no reason regardless of the totality of the team that we shouldn't be in the WCF every year. especially perfectly healthy _________________ Kobe.

I feel like I've gone long enough without basketball. I feel like the season needs to just go ahead and start now because it's been long enough. |

This Team as constructed now will not even make play-in. There is many good Teams on the west and Lakers are relaying on old Lebron and rookie head coach. Does not look good at all |
