Smh..same stuff said about Scotty Pippen..smh. How is that going again?
What summer league games did you watch?
Got Questions..Who was our PG again? What plays were we even running? Also After Connect...who else was sharing the offense load? Hint is wasnt Bronny.

Hinson not the best defender..but 6'8 with wide body and can take it to the rack and shoot from outside? thats who we let go? smh...... |
Granted I'm surprised that Hinson was the guy waived, considering his proficiency at shooting the 3. That said, he wasn't going to beat out any of our current wing players, on the pro team. So, him being released isn't something that I think people need to break out the torches and pitchforks for...

What do you mean? 2 way players can play a max of 50 regular season games, with their team. Now, if the Lakers are impressed with Koloko's play, and their able to open up a spot by making a move during the season, then cool. They can convert his 2 way contract, into a regular contract. But, that's putting the cart in front of the horse. The dude's been away from the game for over a year. You do know we been trying for the last three years to find someone ..anyone that can shoot a 3 right? Thats why we got Quincy a very undersized SG still on the team. Beat people out of a position....Cam Reddish? WE dont have Prince anymore...Bronny James? GAbe vincent? None are three ball shooters ..smh. WE got Connect a rookie..DLO and AR that shoot threes..thats it. Remember at one point we had Matt Ryan the pizza guy out there to shoot 3s...lol. I pointed out the 50 game 2-way provision earlier...I think he's confusing the per game Active List limit with the full season roster limit.
With Cwood being injured, he's probably not on a game time roster for a couple of months...
so, Koloko can get minutes for a while
For IG: since Cwood won't be able to play for a while, they'll have him on the Inactive List (there isn't one, they just won't list him on the Active List for games.) That opens up a per game playing slot of Koloko or Castleton/Traore _________________ LBJ + AD = More rings

Are we just going to casually forget LeBron, and Rui, who both shot over 40% from 3 last season? Also, Christie and Knecht, who both project to be good 3pt shooters? I understand that the current mentality of the league is, you can never have enough 3pt shooting. But, I can also understand why the Lakers want to make sure they have options regarding their frontcourt.
Even with Koloko's signing, they're still kind of thin at the 4/5, with all the injuries. And, there's the health of AD and LeBron to consider as well... _________________ ZOOM!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I'm interested to at least see a lineup with Koloko, AD, Bron
I went to U-Arizona, and watched Koloko play all the time. He made a huge step I think in his Jr year. it was like someone threw a switch. He became a huge defensive presence, a real rim protector and shot blocker, a lob threat, and has fast feet and hands. I'd think he could let AD play more of the roving defensive stopper he was in the Olympics and in the bubble
I don't know if Koloko can turn into a full time starter, but the defensive drop off we saw last year when AD went out should at least be reduced...
and we might get some CK, AD, LBJ minutes
(downside of that, of course, is that LBJ can't defend some of the faster SF's for a full game anymore) _________________ LBJ + AD = More rings

Thank you both for making it more clear.. I didn’t get what you meant with the 50 game rule |
The NBA keeps changing the #'s on this, so I may get this wrong but:
A team can have up to 15 "Active" players per game (they must have at least 12 by CBA rules).
A player that is injured just doesn't get put on the "Active" list on a per game basis. The team can then bring up a G-league player to fill in.
There's other reasons teams may keep a "regular" roster player off the Active list for a game, but the injury example works for the Lakers for a while until Cwood recovers..
When CWood recovers they'll have to make a different decision, but that's down the road a while. _________________ LBJ + AD = More rings

Based on what Redick has said about the 3 point shot and offense, as well as AD, I highly doubt we will ever see a long athletic (big wingspan) big next to AD ever again in the AD/Bron era.
This guy may get some PT and development, it's an interesting pick up. I'd guess with Wood out, and with some PT available maybe he will get some minutes as a backup instead of Hayes. The Lakers may not be as high on Hayes a year later as they were last year at this point in time. |

The more and more highlights I see of Koloko the more and more exited I get. He seem to have the skills and defensively he is just more advance the offensively. Offensively looks like he has the touch and the form to improve on that side of the ball.

McGee isn't low BBIQ per se. He has focus issues which makes for really noticeable screwups. Moment to moment, he's at least average BBIQ.
If you watch the highlights, he's a McGee 2.0 which if you also watched the LeBron's greatest passes as a Laker video is 50% McGee as the recipient.
Now that he has AD for D advise, there's not a lot better role models for his game. |

I wonder if they're offering him an exhibit 10 with the chance to bump the loser of the Castleton/Traore preseason battle. |

Not to mention Dlo who has been a very good 3 point shooter in the regular season. And AR is likely to bump his 3 point shooting average up from last year (fingers crossed). Blake Hinson had one really good flamethrower game in SL, and one decent one, iirc, and the rest he looked pretty awful. |

Sounds like he's super raw and a major foul machine on defense. Has some very good tools and potential though, so hopefully Javale McGee and the coaching staff can help him bring it out. If he can tame the fouls while still being super active as a rim protector and be a good lob target off of pick and rolls or from the dunker's spot, he'll be very useful. |

I'm looking at CK as a project. For this year's team, he provides an option when we need someone on the back line that people driving to the basket need to think twice about. Low bar, but if you don't have that it's really problematic. |

There is a video of him playing at Rico basketball league recently, he was shown running down the floor while making a lay up in transition, the way he can move his feet is very Important, hopefully McGee is showing him all the offensive moves |
