Maybe the best individual season in Dodgers history, today's performance especially just next level stuff and very memorable.

Dodgers won 20-4 today!
Ohtani had 10 RBI's with 3 HRs (51 total now), just needs two more SB's to be the first ever 50-50 player! _________________ What does Marcellus Wallace look like? |

I can’t believe those stats. Has there ever been a better game in baseball history (excluding pitchers)? |

I wonder what Ohtani would do against pitchers from 20-30 years ago. Or if he took a bunch of steroids.

Now if Sho could throw a no hitter and hit 4 HRs in 1 game....that is something we can wait 1000 years and we still wont see |

Its great to say the most talented baseball player of all time is not a Yankee (Ruth) or a Giant (Mays or Bonds) but a Dodger. If only Tommy lived long enough to see this.....something even he never got to see.

He’s not and I’ll start Yama over him in the playoffs anyday. |
Yamamoto needs extra rest.
Like I posted the schedule, Yamamoto really is locked into being the gm 2 starter in order to make this work.
For instance we need the gm 1 starter to make 2 starts in a 5 game series. Yamamoto can’t. Flaherty can. |
Correct. Although in a 7-game series I would start him in Game 1 if you could set the schedule, just so you can bring him back as early as possible. |
Even in a 7 game series, it depends on whether u want to go to a 4 man or 5 man rotation.
I don’t think u can pull off a 4 man rotation with Yamamoto as the gm 1 starter:
Let me check:
Yamamoto starts gm 1:
Quote: | Gm 1: Yamamoto
Gm 2: Flaherty
off day
Gm 3: Buehler
Gm 4: Knack
Gm 5: Kershaw
off day
Gm 6: Yamamoto (6 days rest)
Gm 7: Flaherty (6 days rest)
|
Flaherty starts gm 1:
Quote: | Gm 1: Flaherty
Gm 2: Yamamoto
off day
Gm 3: Buehler
Gm 4: Knack
Gm 5: Flaherty (4 days rest)
off day
Gm 6: Yamamoto (5 days rest)
Gm 7: Buehler (4 days rest)
|
Yeah the math doesn’t add up. Whether Yamamoto starts gm 1 or 2, he’s locked into gm 6.
But starting Flaherty gm 1 allows us to go to a 4 man rotation. As it is, we might not have 4 healthy starters, let alone 5.
I think Yamamoto is locked into the gm 2 starter (if he can’t pitch on 4 days of rest).

I'd just love to hear Tommy talk about Shohei. Kind of how I was really sad that Chick wasn't able to call the last half of Kobe's career and missed things like the 81 point game. _________________ KOBE |

I know it's unavoidable but I'm already getting anxiety seeing Buehler's name in the playoff rotation. _________________ KOBE |

I really did like Buehler last game even with the few command hiccups. First time in a while I felt comfortable with his pitches and it wasnt hitters just being unlucky. He was actually getting them out looking like a capable major league starter without the feeling of when is the lucky streak going to end and the dam going to burst. |

You’re right I do remember that Shawn Green game with 4 home runs. I didn’t realize he had 6 hits too (and 6 runs scored and 19 total bases).
Quote: | Green went 6-for-6 with six runs scored and seven RBIs in the game for the Los Angeles Dodgers against the Milwaukee Brewers. Green tied a modern major league record for runs scored in a game, becoming the first player to do it since Edgardo Alfonzo of the New York Mets on Aug. 30, 1999, against Houston.
After hitting an RBI double his first time up Thursday, Green hit a three-run homer off Glendon Rusch in the second and solo shots off Brian Mallette in the fourth and fifth innings as the Dodgers took a 10-1 lead.
In the eighth inning, Green singled against Jose Cabrera. Green came up again in the ninth inning and connected for the record-tying homer against Cabrera.
He tied the record with a 450-foot shot to the right-field power alley off Jose Cabrera in the ninth and got a standing ovation from the crowd of 26,728 at Miller Park.
Green's 19 total bases broke the major league record of 18 set by Joe Adcock of the Milwaukee Braves on July 31, 1954. Green's six hits were a career high. He had collected four hits eight times. |
