Bronny is a terrible pick. We are a borderline playoff team this upcoming season and the minutes we give to Bronny will be 100% responsible for why we don’t make the playoffs.

The only reason that I really don’t care about drafting Bronny at 55 is that I didn’t expect better from this FO. He will probably be in the league as long as Lebron and then back to school.

Screw it, hot take time:

He'll have a bigger role than Knecht by the end of this season.

Knecht may be a lot more NBA ready than Bronny, but I think Bronny potentially fills a much bigger need than Knecht does.

Bronny actually has defensive potential, and the Lakers' need players who can actually play defense. DLo and AR are hot garbage on defense, and he potentially provides a good change of pace from them when they aren't playing well on offense and are getting cooked on defense.

I don't see the place for Knecht to play heavy minutes in the rotation. The Lakers have 2 better offensive players at both guard positions playing heavy minutes, and he doesn't defend any better than them either.

Maybe Bronny gets a good look at late in the season if the Lakers are out of it or he develops ahead of schedule.

Bronny was not a terrible pick.
He was th 55 pick and at that position a good choice.

Bronny has to be Bronny and not try to be LeBron.
Bronny has good defensive skills and must use it to pick up
full court and harass the ball handler. He was drafted for this.

Also a decent shooter so he can improve on this.
Bronny has to also improve his PG skills as that is his position due to his size.

There is nothing about Bronny that is NBA level outside of his athleticism. And there's been many super athletic players that had no other intangibles and went nowhere in the league.

Bronny had defensive upside and instinct but at the NBA level he,ll have to compensate for being shot over and muscled out of the way and he is neither strong enough nor knowledgeable enough to stop either of those things.

What Bronny needs is to become an above average 3 point shooter, a good finisher at the basket and a defensive pest.

Those 3 things will make him a good role player off the bench. Gary Payton II is his ceiling right now of making it in the NBA. Anything beyond that nobody sees coming and if he accomplishes it good on him.

The only thing he can do outside of that is growth spurt up to 6'3 but that's not something to gamble on.

The good thing for bron jr is that the league is more about entertainment than skill.

Great, I want to be entertained.

Lakers are one inevitable guard injury away from Bronny getting significant minutes.

"Not an NBA player"

Quote:
“The Warriors liked Bronny's skill set and had him on their draft board, sources said. Selecting him ahead of the Lakers, who held the 55th pick, would've been a shrewd move -- perhaps even to entice James to sign there as a free agent. But ultimately, sources said, the Warriors opted to respect the wishes James had made clear and the Lakers signaled they would grant.”

It’s right there in the paragraph

I can’t believe a team that has been openly trying to court LeBron considered drafting his kid.

He would have played on their G League team just as he should play on ours.

Lebron and Bronny are going to get into a midgame argument that leads to a fistfight on national TV. Calling it now.

Yep. We did LeBron a favor at the expense of the team. Now JJ has to spend all year pretending he’s good when asked about him.

Did Maxwell Lewis and JHS get minutes last season? No, they played in blowouts. Same will happen with Bronny. When the games matter the best players will play and Bronny is on the development track.. he knows that and so does LeBron.

Bronny, Jeannie, same route

Do Laker fans no longer care about winning? It seems ESPN is heavily gaslighting fans into thinking anything Bronny "achieves" is more important than team success. Maybe they know if they repeat it enough, people will eventually believe it.
