Miami is gonna ask for LeBron if the Lakers end up going after Butler IMO.. it’s gonna be like 2 stars switching places so each franchise ends up in a winning window, maybe something like LeBron and other assets for Butler and a bunch of sweetners |

I'd consider this if we didn't have to give back picks, and then we used our picks with something else to get a good third guy as well. The Butler and AD timelines aren't that far apart.
But again, Butler's played 3 less games than LeBron in the last 5 regular seasons. Doesn't portend well for his availability going forward. |

I could see Miami giving us a decent pick haul if they end up getting LeBron back, and I’m sure Miami would welcome LeBron back since he is like a God over there… not as big as a God like he is in Cleveland.. but still both Organization’s had LeBron when he was playing at his highest level. |

I actually don't think it's a terrible deal for either side. Miami makes a nostalgia play, skew more offense than defense (which they're desperately in need of), Bam is a good AD facsimile, they have solid surrounding talent, and it's the East. Bron reunites with Spo. He opts out in two years to retire in Cleveland or something. Rozier Herro JJJ Bron Bam + Spo is a damn good team in the East.
Lakers rewind the clock on their aging superstar, have him do more all-around role player things. We just take a massive step back on offense, which means a secondary move would have to be there if we want to compete. Redick and Butler are also really close. |

Yep I totally agree, Butler might be 35 but he still has 3-4 years left of playing at a superstar level.. if Miami ends up giving us 3-2 1st round picks we would have a total of 4-5 1st round picks to play with that’s pretty significant |

In this deal I'd expect them to give up no first rounders, to be honest. Interestingly, they made exactly the same amount of money the next two years, give or take a couple thousand. |

Note to self, if any of Miami, Golden State or San Antonio decide that they have a player where the juice isn't worth the squeeze, do not offer to pay what they wouldn't.
I think there's a pretty good chance Jimmy ends up in Houston. They have pieces to move and the cap room to sign him. He also grew up there, and seems like a good fit with Udoka. |

Seems like I have not heard to much talk of Poeltl getting traded, seems like because they want Poeltl guiding some of the young players during a rebuilding season while helping them compete at the same time |

Putting on my Laker goggles, would love a trade of Russell/Rui for KCP/Carter. Gives you a starting lineup of Reaves, Pope, Vando, LeBron and Davis. Great defense with enough shooting. You can go big with Carter and still have spacing, and Vincent, Max and maybe Knecht as your 9-man rotation.
Just need thing to utterly fall apart in Orlando for them to consider that |

That's a 2 FRP deal and even then I'm not sure why Orlando would do it. |

ar/max should be our starters.max has been around long enough to be afforded growing pains. we felt small last night.we need some size. _________________ Iman Shumpert, believes LBJ's decision to constantly team up with other All-Stars eschewed the idea of superstars continually adding layers to their repertoire. |

Reaves should never be a ball handler, he isn’t good at dribbling. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

I'm not giving up a pick for a center that can't space the floor for AD. _________________ Luxury Tax/FA Spreadsheet (Save to your Google Drive to edit) |

Brook Lopez would be a great impactful acquisition if Pelinka ends up pulling it off it will be the same as the Pistons acquiring Rasheed Wallace and eventually winning the title |

I am, for a really good, sturdy young 7 footer. I'm betting on AD missing like 20 games this year. We can't be historically bad on defense every time AD sits. We need an adult at the 5.
We were in rumors for Kessler and Valanciunas. I'd rather have Poeltl 10/10 times than those guys.
Bron Reaves Christie AD Poeltl
Sub Jakob out at the 7 minute mark, DLo in, everyone shifts down
DLo Reaves Christie Bron AD
Sub Bron out at the 4 minute mark
Unit to start the second
Bron Gabe Dalton Vando Poeltl
Go absolutely (bleep) massive. (bleep) going small. |

KCP is cool, Carter can't stay healthy. Pass. Stop trading our point guard for players that can't replicate his playmaking or high volume 3 point shooting/scoring.
You can argue Developing Christie > Giving up assets for KCP at this point.
UNLESS it's a direct trade of Rui for KCP. It depends on how much they value what KCP has left on the defensive end compared to what Rui gives on offense.
I still think you invest in developing Christie though. As 10 points on 38-40% shooting isn't out of the ballpark for him this season imho. And that's more or less what you're asking of KCP at this point in his career. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

KCP can hit shots in the playoffs and make free throws. While Dlo set a regular season record for threes for the Lakers, KCP hit more threes in a playoff run than anyone besides Kobe in lakers history in the PLAYOFFS. KCP also hit 38% of his threes when Denver won the title. He’s not known to be a miserable playoff shooter concistently like Dlo
If Orlando offered KCP for Dlo you take that, but Orlando isn’t stupid. They want good chemistry and leadership. Plus Suggs kn his first playoff run ever gave them about as good a playoff run as Dlo has done in multiple tries.
Reaves is the best player of him, Dlo, and Rui in the playoffs. He’s the best defender of all three period. He’s the only one who has scored consistently in the playoffs of the three. If you had Reaves, KCP, and then developed Max and Knecht, it would be a good situation. Hell a perfect situation would be turn Dlo into KCP and then Rui into Kuzma and let him start in LA which Vogel didn’t |

Pope would be a very good compliment to Reaves defensively and LeBron offensively. Christie is looking promising too, but having both would look even better. Agreed losing Russell's ballhandling would hurt. But we need more two-way players.
It's moot though. Orlando had their choice and picked Pope. |

Cool but without DLO you aren't making the Playoffs, so that doesn't matter.
Don't trade our 2nd/3rd scoring option for a role player expected to give you 10 points.
The guy in that kind of role on THIS team is Rui. IF offered KCP for Rui straight up you can consider that. But again, Christie I think can give us 10 points on 38-40 three point shooting anyway. And we have a developing Dalton Knecht as well as Reaves and Vincent, and Vando. So those spots are kind of filled atm. Rui would have to be traded for KCP at that point, which you can do if you believe KCPs defense means more than Rui's offense. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

KCP would give the raise the Lakers defense while giving the Lakers some offense.
The Lakers were ranked 23rd in defensive efficiency post-all star break, when the highly touted DLo/AR/Rui started. That held the Lakers back from some wins right there.
None of these guys are as valuable as you guys think they are. Replace them with guys who can actually defend while providing some offense, and they're more valuable.
Right now, I'd take some offensive hit to get better on defense.
These guys aren't elite offensive options anyway. The offense is never going to revolve around them.
Get better on defense, and rely on the remaining role players to pick up the slack from the drop in offensive talent.
If the Lakers are going to get more out of AR, Rui, or DLo, it's more offensive production in low-stakes situations.
Knecht might be able to pick up some offensive slack too. |
