Before I didn't care. Now Lynx need to win to spite this awful refereeing. Just abrogious.

MN deserves to win with all the shenanigans. NY winning would be great for the league in its CaitlinClark-prompted new popularity and financial level, huh?

I think they feel bad bc the Libs have yet to win a chip and the Lynx have but this obviously bad refereeing is not the way.

Stewart did not deserve FTs. Remember the phantom foul on Jones the other game? At least MN won that one eventually.

Terrible pass. Great play. Credit to NY coach for subbing in Sabaly and staying with her. Other bench player was great too earlier, cant remember her name. Good coaching. Of course, refs help.

She missed it. But i don't really want a team who's stars are playing weak to win the ring. But other than Collier, who is decent, no stars are. Role players are doing well.

Yes. NYL stars haven't been great. Well, as stated before Stewie's D has been great but her offense has largely been MIA

HATED the refereeing. HATED it.

But Congrats Liberty you otherwise had a great season and it was mostly a great series.

Overtime it was, but not a classic. WNBA got its narrative in the biggest market. I feel like Collier got a little unfair treatment, but Williams and the others did not perform. And Collier did miss that layup and shot later was blocked.
Just odd for a team to win a ring with its stars, though working hard, not performing well. Calls definitely helped keep MN at bay and their not stepping up and weariness did the rest. No offense it seemed to me for the last 30 min.

It was an unfortunate time for Williams to have a poor shooting game, indeed. That other player (McBride I couldn't think of her name for a minute) was doing well for a while but they were all starting to look tired and then OT they were done. It shouldn't have gotten to an OT IMO, to me that was ref-bizness.

Oh Jonquel got the Finals MVP. That's cool.

I only saw the highlights.

This is NOT the game you want to use to sell the WNBA. Sabrina and Breonna combining for 5-34 from the field. Holy cow that's bad...Sabrina 1 for 19 alone. 25 to 8 free throw discrepancy.

Yeah that is kind of cool. Hard to give it to Ionescu or Stewart with such performances.

Btw, we were not alone in thinking the foul calls/referees were horrendous. Checked in on First Take to see if they'd talk about Dodgers, but the banner they were discussing two minutes ago was something about Lynx getting robbed. This too.

Sheesh lynx coach really went in, "Reeve, who has led the Lynx to four WNBA championships and coached the US women to an Olympic gold medal this summer in Paris, said she was aware there would be headlines about her complaining.

“Bring it on,” she said, “because that (bleep) was stolen from us.”

Exactly. It was awful from the stars on offense, though D by Stewart was good. G7 Celtics Lakers was poor shooting but that was because of phenomenal defense and tremendous intensity by both teams. It was despite the shooting a wellplayed game.
This was NOT that. This was dramatic, but poor wide open shots, turnovers, missed FTs (Stewart missed two not one but two FTs in the clutch in regulation, though she made the final two in OT).
jonnybravo, there was also an absurd call in game two that should never have been called on Stewart by Collier that almost cost the Lynx that game. If I recall correctly, Stewart missed one of two keeping game tied, and then choked an easy layup later to help Lynx get a wellearned through bad calls win.

Refs are a real problem in the league.
