Thanks DB! Great write up as always! Took me quite a while to see this one.
First thoughts - good start for JJ, the team played with a lot more purpose and JJ coached with purpose on his rotations. So unlike the first several months last season. The team was prepared to play the Twolves out of the gates. I was worried whether JJ could handle this, I'd say that first half speaks well for a rookie coach. Second half - players get tired I'm guessing but they didn't fold. Nice to see the Lakers hang on to a lead late game again.
Speaking of rookies, Knecht - not bad for a rookie in his first game.
Seems Hachimura had a fire lit under him this time around too.
AD was awesome.
I'm relieved and encouraged, nice opening win Lakers. |

JJ Redick showed that we have plenty in the capable role players department.
Chris Finch confirmed our getting with modern NBA times.
It will still go back to the “superstar” duo being available and producing. Tonight it was AD wanting to send a message. Hope it continues and Lebron has better games as we go.
People need to stop blaming role players. Redick showed you that there is no difference in role players, it’s schemes and how you construct. 20+ point win if the Lakers hit their 3s but that’s been a long pandemic no matter who is on the roster. |

Thanks DB! Here's to the new regime of (hopefully) high coach IQ! |
