If you’re a Japanese star interested in coming over, why would you want to go to any other team? |
It’s gotta be Los Angeles or New York for any foreigners coming to play in the States.
Which I’ve read the Yankees where really going after Yoshi this past offseason.
Glad in the end he followed his buddy Shohei and won a championship |

I'm guessing because of his elbow injury and surgery last year, Ohtani wasn't able to train properly this past offseason. Maybe that was a factor? _________________ Lakers 49ers Chargers Dodgers |

Yamamoto would have been huge for them. After Cole their starting pitchers aren’t bad but they were struggling recently. Cole made me more uncomfortable than any other starter we faced in the entire playoffs.
The Yankee lineup was the toughest one we faced in my opinion. They were the only team that could make our bullpen look worse than it was.
Fortunately they played the worst defense I’ve ever seen from a playoff team. If Judge catches a routine fly ball all that other stuff doesn’t happen and we almost certainly go to game 6. We needed all 3 defensive mistakes to win this.

Funny we won in 2020 in a really dumb way too. Tampa had the pitcher I feared most and he was dominating. Then they pulled him so quickly it was shocking and the game got away from them.
In this one Cole was dominating and got pulled earlier than expected because his team played the worst inning of defense I have ever seen in my life.
In both games a starter came in to close it out (Urias in 2020, Buehler in 2024) |

When is the Dodgers parade?
The Dodgers parade will be the morning of Friday, Nov. 1 starting at 11 a.m. The parade itself is expected to last about 45 minutes, followed by a special ticketed event at Dodger Stadium.
What is the Dodgers parade route?
The parade will start at Gloria Molina Grand Park in front of City Hall on Spring Street. Mayor Karen Bass will kick off the parade, which will then make its way down 1st Street and march four blocks to S. Grand Avenue. From there, the parade heads to 5th Street, ending at 5th and Flower Street.
How long is the Dodgers parade route?
The Dodgers parade route will be about 1.2 miles long and the event is supposed to take roughly 45 minutes.
What will happen at the end of the Dodgers parade?
After the parade, the Dodgers players will be taken to Dodger Stadium, where there will be a ticketed celebration for fans around 12:15 p.m.
Parking gates at the stadium will open at 8:30 a.m. and ticketed attendees will be allowed to enter the stadium at 9 a.m. Food and merchandise will be available for purchase and the DodgerVision scoreboards will offer live coverage of the parade.
Attendees are reminded that the usual Dodger Stadium policies about not bringing signs and bags are in effect.
How can I watch the parade from home?
Starting at 10 a.m., ABC7 will carry live coverage of the Dodgers World Series parade on air and via our streaming platforms. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

I had turned the game off because it was making me sad so I missed the 5th and didn’t turn it back on until the rally ended. Just watched it. I’m still in disbelief at what went down that inning. _________________ 14-5-3-12 |

But then again, we have manny (bleep) Machado who hasn’t figure out how to be a leader after 30ish years on this planet so let’s be real the dream is dead until Fernando figures out how to be a leader. QFTOS: SF GIANTS
Quote: | It's going to take 10years...
For the Giants to start to turn it around. In 10 years we will start to see the effects of having a larger market due to all of NorCal belonging to the Giants, given the A's are gone now. That obviously means more money pouring in to buy the players we need.
And it will take the same amount of time to rebuild the farm system and get it right, go through the bumps and bruises along the way until we can find the type of talent needed to build a championship team around. Many firings along the way.
And in 10years Ohtani will be on his last leg and the Dodgers will start paying him the 70mil he's owed per year. They'll still figure out a way to pay for everything but he'll be done.
We're in such a hole right now, call me crazy but I think it's going to take 10years to dig out of it...
Hope i'm wrong! |

If I honestly cared more about baseball still, this would probably really hurt. But I got my three titles and bailed right around the time Manfred started jacking with the rules. So, in other words, whatever 🤷♂️ |
this might objectively be the most copium i’ve ever seen in one comment but my heart and soul are right there with you brother ✊ |

Quote: | Quote: | Quote: | Quote: | All the Padres had to do was score a couple more (bleep) runs |
24 straight scoreless innings they were so unserious |
Anyone who still puts their faith in the Padres to do the good thing needs to reevaluate their choices. |
It's like the dodgers took all of Kershaw's choke energy and shoved it down the throats of the Padres and Yankees. |
Quote: | Well at least I don't have to cheer for the Yankees anymore lmao |
Quote: | Dodgers also had the heavens on their side
Fernando dying locked it in |
Quote: | Silver linings... They didn't clinch in LA and Yankees fans had to watch them celebrate |
Quote: | Quote: | This one's on me guys. I told myself I wouldn't watch a single minute of the world series this year. I got home from work a little late and thought "why not catch an inning?" I tuned in right at the top of the 5th. I saw Kike's hit, the three absolutely (bleep) crazy errors, and then 5 (bleep) RBIs. Turned it off immediately. |
Way to go...smh |
Quote: | Quote: | Quote: | Quote: | Quote: | Whatever. They needed to sign every free agent plus Shohei on a (bleep) contract and it still took the Yankees handing it on a silver platter for them to win one. |
I acknowledge that I’m a salty Giants fan, but Ohtani signing with them was some weak (bleep). All it took was for one of the greatest players we’ve ever seen to be added to their roster that already had 3 MVPs on it for them to finally get over the hump. And then for the Yankees to completely forget how to play baseball. |
Yup. I personally don’t understand why he didn’t get more hate for basically pulling baseball’s version of KD. At least he kinda stunk it up in the World Series, not that it mattered at all |
What Ohtani did is significantly worse than what KD did. KD was a free agent and went to a different team and that’s it. I get it looks bad to join the team that just beat you but the warriors had a slot for a max contract so why not go sign the best player?
The manipulation that Ohtani did to give the dodgers a free superteam is complete (bleep) and ruined the sport. Honestly not even close to KD the more I think about it. |
LA. That's it. If KD joined the kobe lakers after blowing a 3-1 lead to them he wouldn't've gotten nearly the same amount of hate. |
Quote: | Quote: | Quote: | The manipulation LAD gets away with on their contracts is gonna cost us a season when the CBA is next negotiated, it’s complete (bleep) and it’s horrendous for baseball |
It really (bleep) blows when you realize just how unbalanced the scales are. |
The contract should've been voided, it is an absolute violation of any competitive balance. Dodgers can now sign Soto to $600 million and only pay him $10 mil a year for 15 years, or just pay him the balance of Ohtanis contract and then pay the rest in 15 years. It's such (bleep) |
Quote: | (bleep) the Yankees choked this one hard. Kind of unbelievable actually. |

Yeah but it’s bad when the Dodgers do it so (bleep) ‘em. |
We not like them |

ChickenStu wrote: | Oh, I meant to post this earlier, but I saw Cole get asked about that play at first base by reporters after the game. It wasn't a brain cramp on his part. He explained that because of the strange swing and how weird the ball came off the bat, he said he thought he might need to field it, so he broke towards the ball and towards the foul line, rather than breaking right for the bag. And once the ball went where it did and clearly got well past him, he had taken the wrong angle so he was in no position to recover and then go to the bag. Essentially, a misread of the ball off the bat because of the cue shot and how weirdly it left the bat.
I'm sure that inning will be a nightmare for Yankee fans for years to come. Maybe decades. |
That's actually true, Cole had a terrible angle coming off the mound. While he might have missed the trajectory, that was no drag bunt. It was hit hard enough that you knew the first baseman was going to get it either way, so you adjust your angle with one step and race towards that bag. With a runner on third with two out, the last thing a pitcher should do is give up. His brain was fried and maybe fatigued; that lapse was a Little League fundamental. |

It was different. Players spoke on it- a lot of fans consider this the first champ since 88- inside the org, according to passan they knew it was different- however this ring makes bubble chip an afterthought- no one can say anything- 2020 from this point won’t even be discussed - plus the fashion they did it in against the franchise they did it against. Boy oh boy. I am just a fan - but I am related to and am close to die hards and this ring is different to them. They are claiming this hard. They should. _________________ Iman Shumpert, believes LBJ's decision to constantly team up with other All-Stars eschewed the idea of superstars continually adding layers to their repertoire. |

Yeah, that 2020 title meant something, because we all celebrated. But a full 162 game title means more.
From what I remembered that year, they decided to have a season at the last minute. Everyone reported to ST and boom, season was on.
We were just the most ready of everyone and we had no hiccups all year.
But to me, a 60 game reg season just isn't a real reg season. It's a sprint and baseball is a marathon.
So it's worth something, but something less than a full season to me. This one feels more satisfying, more gratifying. |

I'm so used to playing the Padres (w/ Merrill) and the Mets (Taylor) catching everything that I thought for sure that fly ball by Teoscar was going to be caught. Somehow, Judge just couldn't get there. He looked slow to me. |

That’s the beauty of this one. This makes that one, two. Kershaw made out like a bandit. His career stats buttoned up with 2 rings. |
Good point. This one does legitimize that one. For instance, now Mookie has 3 rings. |

This one definitely feels much better. The way we won this game was cherry on top. They lit us up early and seeing the whole stadium go wild put us through hell. Then the look on all the fans faces in the 5th when we tied it was priceless. To make things even better, every single Yankees fans were still in the stadium to witness the Dodgers winning because the game was close. |

A case should be made for Flaherty to be WS MVP. He beat Cole in both of his starts this series. |
