It might not be until ASG? How does it go from ready on opening night to missing half the season?

Rob Pelinka says Jarred Vanderbilt had procedures on each of his feet this offseason. He called them successful and has optimism that Vando will be ready to play by opening night of the regular season. |

Because it's random people with no knowledge of the situation making up timelines on a message board. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points." |

I remember how Ariza came back with a 3 ball after sidelined for awhile . If Vando can do that, he will balance this team to another level. Just like Ariza, his playmaking is also underrated. |

You seem knowledgeable... is he returning near the AS game or on opening night?

Minor discomfort seems like a anagram for I might be getting traded so I don’t want to rush back just yet |

I think Vando as our starting SG can address some of the problems we see.

I think this is worth considering presumably 15-20 games into the season if we're struggling and Vando is back. Clearly it affects spacing but removes the DLO/AR redundancy (which is probably contributing to the former's struggles), improves both size and speed on defense, and addresses the need for playmaking off the bench.
One area I would have for concern is how it affects Rui who has improved as a cutter and offensive rebounder which are Vando's areas of strength on offense. I do notice that they tend to operate on opposite sides of the court though. _________________ Luxury Tax/FA Spreadsheet (Save to your Google Drive to edit) |

I don't like the way he's not moving. This guy might be out the entire year. Vando's effective when he's flying all over the court, but all of the videos are stationary layups or set shots |

Because that's the phase of recovery he's currently at. You don't just jump straight to full VO2 max training. The reports are that he's on schedule so no need for the dooming right now. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points." |

Leading into training camp when Rob revealed that the surgery Vando elected not to have in February was then done during the summer he said they were optimistic Vando would be ready by the start of the season.
It's seems likely he knew that was a lie but there was an incentive to say that to avoid criticism over having done such a poor job with the roster. Similar issue at center where they knew Wood was out but didn't add another backup. Now Wood remains out, Hayes may be benched, Castleton is in Memphis and Koloko isn't ready.
Time for Jeanie to give him an extension and shovel this family business bs again. |

Man, when are we gonna see the three headed Vando-Cam-Max shadowing the other side’s wing _________________ “The main goal for the Lakers is to win a championship. All I care about, all we care about, is to raise another banner in the rafters.“ |

I like the guy but he isn’t nearly as good as some think he is. If he is a savior we should blow the team up _________________ Iman Shumpert, believes LBJ's decision to constantly team up with other All-Stars eschewed the idea of superstars continually adding layers to their repertoire. |

He causes havoc out there. A lot of things he does does not really show on the stat sheet. But I remember the short time he played last season he was a game changer on defense. |

He really is. Remember when he locked up Luka during that 20 point comeback in Dallas? (Game Lebron hurt his foot)
And had Tatum on the verge of tears in Boston last season.
Vando is a game changer on defense. If he could only shoot league average from 3…. |

He has played 55 games in over 2 years (175 games). He is a paper tiger and I would not count on him for anything. That Dallas game was 2 seasons ago. I like what he use to bring, but I am not confidant he is physically capable to be that player. |
