Jax and Vando are very active on the bench and in the huddles. They're talking to guys constantly throughout the game and talking and listening to coaches etc. I didn't see Christian.

However, as time went on it seemed like the grind started getting to the guys particularly AD he looked frustrated (as I'm sure he was), and started to visibly become low energy. All the guys just looked not disengaged, but yeah just low energy in that second half.

I could feel his intensity up in the stands. He's still in good shape and looks like an athlete. He engaged with the players regularly and he also engaged with his staff regularly. Which is something I remember observing and commenting often that Ham seemingly did not. JJ was always talking to McMillan and particularly Brooks. He was constantly looking at the 2nd row coaches regarding reviews/challenges/analytics/all the stuff they do. It just looked way more like a functional coaching staff so that was nice to see.

Speaking of Scott Brooks he's very engaged as well and I noticed players taking to him and McMillan often.

Joker is amazing to watch in person.
Thanks for sharing your experience of being at the game

As a big fan of the immensely uber talented AD, if he wants to attain the legacy of being truly among the greatest, (as the Black Mamba would say) - Earn It!! Hopefully we are not seeing a situation like D12’s first season where he was expected to be “Given the Keys!”

AD’s reaction to being frustrated by The Joker is to having “low energy” - if the Black Mamba was playing - he would have been angry and high energy. If LBJ is not pushing/motivating AD to overcome his fear of seemingly playing against a player (Joker), maybe when players like Vando who have a high motor would embarrass/motivate others to COMPETE.

This was/could be a “great game” because it is tangible and irrefutably evidence of what AD need to have to elevate from an uber talented player who can fill a stat sheet when he knows he is more talented. Greatness is attain upon one’s performance against other great players. JJ, Nate and Scottie will always use this game to remind AD that he needs to be always attacking with fearless abandon to be The Example/Leader the Lakers need. I’m sure that Jeanie, Rob and JJ are always seeing who will embrace the role. Maybe the Lakers need to have somebody “protect” AD from The Joker

If AD doesn’t feel like he can score against Joker, it’s time for AD to run home with his tail between his legs or work on his game. Joker can score against anybody. Joker is the Gold Standard for Excellence in the NBA

Great to see JJ thoroughly engaged with his fellow hard/nosed Assistant Head Coaches (Nate and Scottie) as they are teaching this team how to win rings and strategic games against high caliber teams

On this occasion, I'm thankful DB was spared the grief of having to relive another second half of Denver spanking the Laks.

Strangely the game didn't record even though I know I recorded it and another person witnessed. So I went to record the later game and checked in on the third quarter score and was like ... yeah, I don't think so.
