Looking back on the last 10 years of NBA Drafts, can you imagine a Lakers Team that selected the players below and thus never traded for Davis, but still signed LeBron (as a FA before the 2018 season)...
All the guys listed were taken AFTER the Lakers pick...
PG: Jalen Brunson (in 2018 instead of Mo Wagner)
SG: Jaylen Brown (2016 instead of Ingram)
SF: Jayson Tatum (2017 instead of Ball)
PF: LeBron James (signed as FA)
C: Nikola Jokic (in 2014 instead of Randall)***
** It's really too bad the Lakers did not take a chance on Jokic, as Gasol left at the end of 2014 and in 2015, the Lakers had (3) sub-par Centers: Rookie; Tarok Black (6'9"), 5th year; Jordan Hill (6'10") and 2nd year Robert Sacre (7.0'), and Jokic did not come to the NBA until a year later (2015-2016).
I know it's not that helpful, but it's fun to dream...
