Like that he came in and immediately was able to hit a couple of threes
He can probably be what Lonnie was for us, without the powerful slashing _________________ #18 next... |

Can he make Gabe expendable? For Jonas? _________________ “The main goal for the Lakers is to win a championship. All I care about, all we care about, is to raise another banner in the rafters.“ |

Not Gabe's POA defense. |

Good first game. Let's have about 10 more games before we even start thinking who's expendable now that he's here.
But I'm pleasantly surprised by his first outing, and also how intelligently he expressed himself in some recent interviews.
It's really early, but a good start. |

I wouldn't count on him to be anything more than an occasional spark when the offense is in a rut...a less playable version of Dalton. If he can handle against a press or not be a glaring liability on D then that's gravy. _________________ Luxury Tax/FA Spreadsheet (Save to your Google Drive to edit) |

So… is he and Gabe enough? That back up PG? _________________ “The main goal for the Lakers is to win a championship. All I care about, all we care about, is to raise another banner in the rafters.“ |

Shake and Bake.
28 min, 21 points (7-8 from the field), 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals against the Wizards. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

Is it just me or I think he is a decent defender? |

He's an average player that is a good shooter. On some nights he'll make you wonder why he's been out of a team's rotation. Other nights you'll understand completely why.
If you are going to give him the role Reaves would fit best in, which is 6th man scorer you may benefit from an average of 10 points off the bench on a nightly basis.
He does best with the ball in his hands, does worst when asked to wait off ball for his turn, which seems counterintuitive, but he's the kind of player that needs to get into a rhythm in order to be effective or he can have a cold streak that lasts through an entire game. If he isn't giving you his shooting he doesn't have much else. Jack of all trades, master of none. But if you do get him in a rhythm he'll do well on catch and shoots, at least this season he has.
Not a playmaker in the slightest, but serviceable if in a rhythm if he needs to pass.
Nothing particularly special about him, but the one constant has been his shooting, but don't get too excited, he's not a proven high volume three point shooter with his efficiency but he's good enough in the few he takes, he does most of his damage going downhill, has an okay pull up from mid and can bust drop coverages, and he's very good at finishing at the basket, he won't be a 15-20 ppg guy, but if you give him a consistent role and don't flux around with his minutes he can get you 8-10 off the bench on a nightly basis and sometimes more.
That's Shake Milton in a nutshell, you will really love him some nights, you will be frustrated by him most nights, but you'll always see 5-10 points next to his name if he's given consistent time and role. |

^^Good post.
I think he's a serviceable backup that should play more than he has so far. Yeah it was the Wizards, but he looked competent enough out there to get some burn and not only sit at the end of the bench. |

Serviceable back up is apt, he’s what current Bronny is expected to produce, third string guard _________________ “The main goal for the Lakers is to win a championship. All I care about, all we care about, is to raise another banner in the rafters.“ |

A late second rounder probably wouldn’t be expected to produce as a serviceable back up their 1st year, even as a third string guard. Consistent G league should be the expectations from that draft position.
I think a serviceable third string guard is more like what JHS is expected to produce. _________________ When it’s a reasonable possibility, I expect the Lakers to go after a ship like it can’t be denied. I haven’t seen a respectable effort by the Front Office for the last two off seasons nor the last trade deadline. What is going on? |
