Clippers only had to mortgage their future for the rest of the decade in order to build a team that has no chance of contending and no real assets. Don't see how you can praise their roster and ignore what it cost. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points." |

When you build a team that's well-rounded, you'll compete almost every night.
You have a team that's ready to compete every night. Defense keeps you in every game, and great offensive nights mean dominant victories.
I don't know how you can watch the Clippers and the Lakers and not think about how difficult the Lakers have made winning look.
How many blowout losses is this now?
The Lakers have done an awful, awful job at building up their team and the Clippers have done SO much better at building up their team.
The Clippers won't get a chip because of their stars, but there has to be some appreciation for how well built their team when you look at the Lakers.
How do they continue to be better despite having NO stars?
People want to give James Harden all the credit, but he hasn't been playing great.
22.3/6.9/8.8 on .386/.344/.895 isn't amazing by any means.
It's not even close. Put LeBron and AD on their team the last few years, that team legitimately competes. |

Not the best time to put up that rant.
But, this sentiment has been true for years. It's not just about this season. |

Clippers about to surpass the Lakers again in the standings. I really like to bring this up because it really needs to be understood how much the Lakers screwed up building this team over the years.
Despite missing Kawhi up until now and playing with no stars during that stretch, they're currently better, especially if you factor in +/-. Theirs is positive along with every other team above .500, while the Lakers is currently negative by a decent margin.
I know LeBron and AD aren't the same anymore, but how can explain you them being worse than teams that obviously have less star power?
It's so pathetic, it makes me angry.
Real talk: I don't think even the 2020 versions of LeBron and AD lead this team to a ring, because this team is putrid on defense.
Tired of expecting these same guys to be the main supporting cast. They have nice PPGs, but that's it. They're score only guys who don't score enough to ease the scoring burden of the stars. And when you add in the awful, awful defense, they're just not good enough.
Tired of AR getting so much praise, TBH. |
