It's not acceptable in the universal basketball handbook but the NBA allows it ..reasons..

It’s just boring for every game to be a three point shooting competition.

This is exactly why I stopped watching. Just a bunch of guys doing up and down the court taking turns at shooting 3s:

Watch that clip and maybe people will see why guys like Chuck and Shaq rag on the current product.

I wish we played like this. We pump fake open 3s and drive into traffic, losing the ball or smoking a layup.

Them calling the Lakers garbage when they were tied for the 4th seed and fighting for a top spot in the West but don't say squat about any of the other teams tied with our record or below us, just goes to show they don't pay attention to the product and just spew whatever narrative sounds good or will go viral.

Seeing more and more people criticize it now.

This guy really watched us get owned in every game where we switch everything and said, give me more of that. At least Darvin's dumb defense was more effective in the median case

No one here knows better than JJ. Even with zero experience. If schemes suck it’s because our players suck.

Or tailor the scheme to the personnel?

No one here knows more than Darvin Ham, Luke Walton, Byron Scott, Mike Brown, Del Harris, Bill Bertka, Kurt Rambis, Bernie Bickerstaff, Magic Johnson, Frank Hambien, Mike Dunleavy, Randy Pfund either.

The genius savant bball god.

Let him develop though. No reason to do this thing all over again. He's got potential. Will probably end up being a good coach.

I was watching postgame and saw it happen live and its just that reminder that any human we come into contact with may be dealing with something way deeper than their outward composure would suggest

He was saying how his kids loved basketball and had many basketball cards and signed jerseys that were all burned in the fire (and his whole podcast burned up)

Now they have Austins and they will have Chris Pauls and Wembys.. then I know we all do it but I think he struggles not to focus on the loss of material things while many peoples actual lives have been lost.. very deeply challenging time

It was Byron that was obsessed with "Head of the Snake" Price

Dear JJ,

AR, DK4, and Rui should never be on the floor at the same time. Send Rui to the bench. Line up should be AR, Max, Dorian, Bron, AD.
Put DK4 on minutes restriction. He should never be playing for 12 minutes a game like yesterday.

Looks like Steve Kerr & Steph are waiving the white flag... admitting the team is mid tier, and most likely wont make the playoffs.

Maybe JJ & Bron should do the same.

I've thought JJ overall has been pretty good. Areas for growth, but solid for a first year head coach and you can see a potential long-term vision with a young guy who wants to establish a long-term system.

My biggest criticism is that his academic vision of how the game should be played costs us immensely in the short-term. For a guy who is allegedly so Xs and Os focused, we are halfway into the season and he still has not been able to answer any questions about why we allow ourselves to be picked apart repeatedly by teams who exploit our switching schemes. You get a lot of players saying generic stuff like "we need to be better", but if the result has not improved after half a season of grinding this scheme, perhaps the scheme needs to be better. It's crazy to me that Darvin's drop coverage and just choose 1 guy to not defend at the 3pt line system (that led to us being a bottom three 3pt defensive team in terms of percentage and makes) was still much better than what JJ has been able to come up with. He's coaching these guys defensively like he has the Celtics starters. The only teams worse than us defensively are 6 of the 7 worst teams overall in the league. It's very clearly not just a talent issue. The fact that we have AD and can't even be an average defensive team is troubling. And we need to be much better than league average defensively given the roster waste we have.

On the offensive end we're around where we were with Darvin in terms of rating, but I feel a little better about the long-term success of JJ's scheme since so much of our offensive success under Darvin was just guys indiscriminately running. Strategy was to overwhelm teams with pace, but any team that was able to slow us down (usually by scoring on us) would crush us in the halfcourt. Our ratings were fine overall but atrocious in the half court. So I find it mildly encouraging that the pace has dropped significantly and we're still able to be efficient in the half court. Hopefully that continues to improve.

The NBA shoves the Lakers down the general NBA audience's throat regularly and so yea, people will get ticked off. Sometimes being apart of a winning fanbase (overall) can blind us to how much other people have to hear about you constantly, even when you suck (the parallel being the Cowboys since the 90s). The NBA media also shoves teams down people's throat. So while I agree they don't pay attention like they should, they are echoing and overall general fan sentiment when you get something shoved down your throat.

Gotta admire the fact the players, coach, and organization are in lock-step.
