You realize that receptionist is actually the euphemism for scheduling specialist? _________________ Hoy por ellos, mañana por nosotros |

After years working as a receptionist, I can say that they specialize in nothing, and scheduling least of all. I was hired because I specialized in having a pulse. If pressed, my top specialties on the job were sh_tposting on LG, doing homework, answering phone calls, paging people, replacing toner, and seeking out potlucks in other departments' break rooms. Somewhere way down on the list maybe was scheduling _________________ http://chickhearn.ytmnd.com/

"Wholesome" I hate that word now as much as I did the word "literally" 5 years ago. _________________ The butter's hard and the eggs are chillin' in the dark.

"Empath." FFS. I'm not saying it doesn't exist, but far too many people think they're empaths when they're not. _________________ You are under no obligation to remain the same person you were a year ago, a month ago, or even a day ago. Almost any phrase or word using business jargon. For example:
"Bandwidth": Part of my background is tech. I cringe whenever someone says that they don't have "bandwidth". The closer euphemisms are that they are experiencing a CPU bottleneck (i.e. they're not sharp), multi-tasking issues (inefficiencies imposed by restarting each task), or they are experiencing page thrashing (operating system term when you sacrifice performance due to running a singularly large job with insufficient memory resources).
"Out of pocket": I hate that phrase. It has mutated into having multiple meanings. It's up to the listener to decipher.
"Circle back": That phrase is like nails on a chalkboard. You're almost guaranteed to hear that at least once a meeting.
"Think outside the box": This is pervasive among poseurs in marketing. It entails pasting a picture of Steve Jobs, or a logo of AirBnB, Uber, etc., in a PowerPoint presentation. It's a facile attempt to align themselves with something original and highly successful. The slides that follow tend to be vague if not vacuous, and never define an opportunity or challenge.
"In my wheelhouse": Usually a bold proclamation of expertise by a vendor. Politely refrain from rolling your eyes whenever you hear it.

“Therapy-speak” in general is incredibly overused and has basically lost all meaning. |

I generally tune out whenever someone uses the phrase "trust me." For example, "trust me, I know how this is going to play out because I've seen it a million times."
Nothing makes me trust a person less than when they use that phrase. _________________ You are under no obligation to remain the same person you were a year ago, a month ago, or even a day ago. You are here to create yourself, continuously. - Richard Feynman |

Asians outnumber Europeans by multiples… unless Indians/south Asians are classified as caucasoid, which could be, hmm _________________ “The main goal for the Lakers is to win a championship. All I care about, all we care about, is to raise another banner in the rafters.“ |

Just messing around. Europe/Asia were Western designations without much reason behind them. Especially pertaining to the people living in either area. |

By definition, Europe isn’t a continent _________________ “The main goal for the Lakers is to win a championship. All I care about, all we care about, is to raise another banner in the rafters.“ |

Depends on definitions, but if all of a contiguous landmass is required then it is part of Eurasia, but there’s no north and South America either, and Africa doesn’t have a separate landmass from Eurasia either. _________________ Hoy por ellos, mañana por nosotros |

I really get irritated when people say things like: the Michael Jordans, the Michael Phelpses, the Joe Bidens, of the world.
There's only one of each of those. If you're trying to capture the "type," describe the type.
I'm also annoyed when people use apostrophes when they're talking about plurals. _________________ You are under no obligation to remain the same person you were a year ago, a month ago, or even a day ago. You are here to create yourself, continuously. - Richard Feynman |

idiopathic
enjoy leaving the doctor's office no closer to any answers as to what is causing you misery, because he was too obtuse to either listen to your symptoms or order labs, yet sent several prescriptions for powerful crapshoot medications to your pharmacy nonetheless _________________ http://chickhearn.ytmnd.com/
