Well, the Lakers seem intent on retiring anyone. They lost a lot of validity retiring Cooper's. So, why not?

If Cooper is retired, then Derek Fisher, Byron Scott and Robert Horry should all be retired as well! That's not even counting Pau Gasol! You know also that LeBron will be up in our rafters.

Those retired jersey's are becoming meaningless.

If Horry, Fish or Scott make the Hall they should be retired.

Absolutely should.

All star on a title team.
Best defender we may have ever had as a Laker.
All star 4 times.
All NBA as a Laker multiple times.
WCF and 3 playoffs outside of the title run.

Yes deserved jersey recognition.

Where do you guys rank AD among Lakers greats? (Purely as accomplishments by Lakers.) Do you consider him above or below James Worthy, who was finals MVP? What about Pau?

Kobe
Magic
Kareem
Shaq
West
Baylor
Worthy
Gasol
Mikan
Wilkes
Goodrich
Cooper

If he is elected to the HOF (a 99.9% certainty), then his number should be retired here because that's what the Lakers do. I mean, we retired Gail Goodrich's number.

Nah, he brought us a championship when we needed it the most. Unfortunately he got injured and wasn't able to defend the title vs Milwaukee. He deserves his jersey up their

Coop made the HOF. That’s the prerequisite. AD won a title with us and he will be in HOF. So easily yes
