Defense is going to take a nosedive but team will still be entertaining to watch. Hello league pass. _________________ Yi Jianlian Fanboy. Respect The Chair.
Starting anew. I'm retiring my main.
Having both ball dominant players Luka and LBJ on the same team is probably the exact opposite offense philosophy to what JJ want to do.
Lebron has shown he can play off ball a lot.
Luka is going to handle the ball for the majority of time making Lebrons life a whole lot easier.
I believe JJ wants to play a fast tempo motion offense that involves a lot of running and cutting. If there’s one thing that Pelinka excels, it would be giving wrong ingredients to the head coach.

Lebron is one of the greatest cutters this game has ever seen. Lebron is ranked 11th in transition baskets.
I think this duo in theory should be great. Luka has never played with anyone like Lebron and vice versa.
Now we've got someone that can take over in crunch time as well. AD didn't want it and Lebron is too old.
Where Rob will be judged is how he builds this team. We still need a starting center and someone to replace Max.
Ok JJ, I won’t accept anything less than top-3 offense _________________ “The main goal for the Lakers is to win a championship. All I care about, all we care about, is to raise another banner in the rafters.“
I’m sure JJ is super excited to coach Luka. Especially as Luka is a floor-raiser - JJ will be hard-pressed to ever miss the play-in with Luka on this roster _________________ #18 next...
JJ does have a challenge in how to manage this team until Pelinka re-balances the roster. But I think the big burden is on Pelinka to put the right pieces around Luka, Luka is a once in a a decade franchise talent, and Pelinka needs to have real urgency to put the right talent around him. JJ I think will be fine, he's shown that he's at least an adequate coach.

I wonder how mad Darvin Ham must be. If he had survived one more season he could have coached Luka. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
When we first hired JJ, I said give him half a season before coming to conclusions. Now that we're past that half, we could see JJ getting a better grasp of the team and the players.
Almost everyone is playing better. From AR to Rui to Knect to Max. Everyone. Everyone has improved. Have to give JJ a ton of credit here. Winning blowout games with a bunch of supposed misfits. We have no stars on the team other than Lebron if you still consider him a star.
JJ is the GOAT!!! _________________ Lakers used to average one championship every four years under Dr. Buss but I'd gladly take one every ten years now.
With this 5th win on the 6-game Grammy Trip, the Lakers improve to 10 games over .500, and now 13-13 on the road. They’re 1 game back of Denver for 4th in the West, and the 8th-best win percentage in the NBA (.604).

He would have ruined Luka.
That is just absurd hyperbole. Please stop.
He absolutely would not ruin him. He would probably prolong his career and spare his body. Imagine how much less wear and tear Luka would have coming off the bench to spell Taurean Prince.

To be fair to Darvin, he did get results and similar level to JJ in year 1. Year 1 was never gonna be the test. The test would be year 2 and 3 and the playoffs.
The same guys that were hugging Darvin and battling to the WCF with him soured on him by year 2. The guys really played hard for Darvin in year 1 post-WB trade things went very well.
We also need to see what JJ can do in the playoffs. We can't forget the 2023 run the team had post-WB trade. They went something like 20-9 and went to the WCF. There was a time during that stretch some were saying Ham was the best coach since Phil.
I feel we're on a similar level the post-WB team was on. That stretch between Feb-May 2023. If Luka and Lebron fit in, it's going to be tough to beat this team with Lebron playing this way. I do question Lebron and Luka fitting in though. Last night, Lebron was running the show big time. Same in NY. To me Lebron and Luka are like having the same player, and same flaws on defense. So how do you get them both having the same MVP level impact at the same time? That's going to be the big test for JJ.
