I have Tue, Feb 25 marked on my calendar. AD and Luka will face off at Crypto. Tickets as low as $243. What does that say about interest in the game? _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I hope there is a point in the future where he can come back, finish his career here, and get that parade he's wanted.
Agreed. AD might get a parade this season though, if everything breaks the right way. I'm going to be rooting hard for him if we can't make it. I think AD is going to change a lot of minds over the next few months as people finally see him without the Laker hater glasses on and see that this wasn't as lop sided a trade as advertised.
The only real reason most see this as a lop sided trade is because of the age difference, if AD was the same age it would be a much closer split to how people feel obviously as AD is a 2 way monster which we've all seen for Years. I'd absolutely rather see him win another one then the majority of the NBA teams.
I agree though that AD is likely going to lessen the pain for Mavs fans as they actually see him in real time and give the team a completely new look. It's also kind of a weird Year again for the WC and depending what moves close out the trade deadline I don't see the Lakers or Mavs as clearly being a Contender or not being one so it's going to be very interesting how things play out from here.

FWIW AD seems very happy with his new team.
I mean, what's he supposed to say? "I can't believe I have to play for this garbage organization and sell the 31 million dollar mansion I had in LA." _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

It’s not about what he said. It’s about a lot of things. Unlike Luka who looks like a deer in the headlights and completely hurt, AD looks relieved and excited with a bit of shock mixed in. This is just my opinion.
Total opposite of the way Luka looked on his introduction...
Face lit up when asked about him now playing at the 4...
I dont think he'll be able to play the 4 if he doesn't hit threes at a decent clip.
having two bigs who lack outside shooting doesn't fit the modern nba.
One of the reasons as to why AD worked so well when we won the title was because he shot an absurd percentage from middys and damn near 40% from three.
He's capable but he needs to want to shoot them as well.

Kidd knows how to use him and already promised him that he will be playing the 4... Next to Gafford and Lively those guys are pretty much a better version of that 2020 Lakers frontcourt.
Kyrie such a great ballhandler he can breakdown any defenses at will.
^Kyrie is good but not that good. He's not as good as LeBron is today so if Bron/AD/Reaves wasn't good enough then I doubt Kyrie/AD/Dinwiddie will prove to be better although their defense should be better. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points."
Its clear that the players were using AD as a crutch... on offense and defense.
With no AD, everyone has to move and work to get their points. On D, they have to put forth effort. No more laziness
It's also short term. We have to wait and see what the team can do defensively once Luka and Lebron both start. Reaves my guess will continue to start. So a lineup of Rui, Lebron, Reaves, Luka + 1 of DFS/Vanderbilt/Hayes is likely what we see at the very start of the Luka era (unless a big trade happens in the next 24)

True. Its a short sample size, but the offense at least seems alot better without AD. We seem to be scoring alot more. Everyone is getting involved. Defense was so damn critical with this team, because the offense wasnt all that great.
My only concern is once Luka suits up, will the others use Luka as an offensive crutch.. similar to how they used AD. Will they stand around and watch

I disagree with this. I honestly think AD's lack of consistent effort running back on D and closing out on shooters on the perimeter is what led to our inconsistent defense.
Don't get me wrong AD is amazing but doesn't play hard all the time and that can lead to inconsistent results.

To me this has always been nonsense, but time will reveal the answer. If Dallas is healthy, I expect them to be a top 3 team in the west.

that's if they even make the playoffs. they lose their top playmaker and Kyrie is not a playmaker, probably worse than reaves, so their offense will be a lot of isolations of Kyrie and AD, while Kyris is a great scorer, we've seen AD for 6 years.

Looking at the current standings, the Mavs would have to go 26-5 to finish with 52 wins. If they can win at that clip for the rest of the season they are a legit contender, that’s 83% winning percentage.
