The team fought hard despite not having any interior defense. Hayes was sorely missed. We missed Rui too.
Hope Bron's injury isn't to serious, some much needed rest will serve him well.
Flush this game and get ready for the next tough stretch of games.

Yeah. Why is Hayes considered a bust and vet min level player? Seems like a solid MLE guy. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

He was the 8th pick in his draft. We know high expectations come with being a top ten pick. Same with Rui & Cam. It typically takes a big man a bit longer to really develop. Many teams give up on them before they do because there's pressure to get instant results. They gave up on Jaxson. YaYYYYYY for us!
We're truly blessed to have these guys at this particular stage of their respective developments.
The combination of their maturation, a great coach, and two of the greatest ever at utilizing snipers (Reaves & Knecht) & lob threats (Hayes) makes the present and future promising.
The fundamental reason we lost is not because of who was there or who was not. It was because we lost the matchup hunting problem where Reaves and to a lesser extent Doncic were holding up much worse than Horford holding up against both James/Doncic. If there was anything we learned from this game, it was that Derrick White is the guy to hunt and not Horford
Is Len be so bad that he can’t get a minute on the floor with Hayes out? If that answer is yes then Rob failed us this year even getting Luka by wasting an opportunity. He stopped before putting icing on the cake. _________________ When it’s a reasonable possibility, I expect the Lakers to go after a ship like it can’t be denied. I haven’t seen a respectable effort by the Front Office for the last two off seasons nor the last trade deadline. What is going on?

The Celtics hunt mismatches as well as any team in the NBA. Coach Redick has some work to do defensively to get us to the next level.
Offensively, we played at too slow a pace, and even during our winning streak, we lacked ball and player movement, especially when Luka or LeBron had the ball at the top of the floor. _________________ Lakers 49ers Chargers Dodgers
Regardless of our bad play, Refs SCREWED us with no calls...Len and Cam should have played ESPECIALLY Cam defending tatum.
tatum shoves off every single time he takes it to the hoop, or takes a jumpshot...NEVER gets called. _________________ Creatures crawl in search of blood, To terrorize y'alls neighborhood.

Luka was just horrible defensively. And not only with the mismatches. He ball-watched and was late on the corner three closeout for Pritchard (the guy you absolutely have to close out against). He also lost way too many balls against pressuring defense, especially against Brown, which you don't normally see. But they didn't roll over and fought back so kudos to the team for that. Onto the next one.
Given that this was a national game on ABC, it was a phusical game.
Lakers are always on the Cs' radar, but especailly on this game given the Lakers' winning ways.
Every opposing team's game plan will be to target AR, Cs found a way to exploit it more efficiently because the quality of the players they have on the roster. It will be interesting to see what J.J. (along with Brooks and McMillan) some up when they play again (hopefully in Da Finals). What will the counters be, especially when there are switches
J.J.'s culture if Playing Defense Based on Effort (as mentioned on the broadcast was on full display. LBJ to Luka to AR, with sub-par performances (Vando, Vincent) and missing players (Rui to Hayes) - Lakers were in the game.
Len to Jameson playing in this game would not have made sense because the physicalness of their play would be overshadowed by the Cs completely tareting them on defense.
Great that Goodwin and Knecht played well in the respective roles that provide J.J. with additional options to rest LBJ to AR
Cs knew that they had to attack the Head of the Snake on Offense, which is Luka. They blitzed him from the weak side and Luka didn't know where the release options were located at. Best way to beat an aggressive defensive schemes is great passing that the Lakers have with Luka to LBJ to AR - that has been the key to their success. Kudos to the Cs in the schemes that they used and now it is time for J.J. (a Basketball Savant) to address this in future games

This. It was only our 11th game with LBJ-Luka playing together.
JJ is a smart coach, he'll learn a lot from this game.

When we cut it to 4... I thought it would be a Luka dagger revenge ending. But Jaylen Brown, who shoots 32% from three hits a dagger. It was their day. But Tatum and Brown are very capable of missing everything, which is why we can beat them without Bron and AD last year. LOL! If we're healthy, I like our chances against them, but perhaps that's thinking too far ahead. Both Lakers and Celtics can easily get knocked out. _________________ Westside Knecht gang, Knecht gang, bing-bing bang!

Upcoming games provide great opportunities for players from Knecht to Goodwin to Jemisen to Koloko to Len to Morris to Cam to show that they can be trusted to produce when called upon.
Who will show up?
Tatum & Brown vs Luka and LBJ - will take our Big 2
White vs AR - will take AR
Cs' bench is tested and proven as an unit, while the Lakers' bench is just now clarifying/confirming their respective roles in J.J.'s rotation.
