^^^^ LAC and GSW BOTH on our side of the bracket would be problematic. So I guess its root for the Clippers then. Its interesting because the Warriors will prefer the #2 seed to the Lakers but wont risk playin to do so. Hence, LAC beating GSW in a game they want to win will be a nice bonus for us and soften them up more in which case we have to hope HOU takes them out.

What a huge game... Clips at GS.

Loser goes to the play in, where both teams have been eliminated in prior seasons.

Good.....take GSW early. If we cant take them out now, we would not be able to beat them later anyways and Im confident that right now, we would put them out. Take out GSW first and get an easier second round matchup to physically and mentally recover. Then get ready for OKC/DEN and CLE/BOS.

Don’t understand the logic. If other teams such as OKC or Houston can knock them out, wouldn’t it be more ideal?

HOU is unlikely to be able to do so. The winner of the OKC - GSW WCSF bloodbath (assuming it is a blood bath where both teams are playing at a very high level) would be iron sharpening iron to be razor sharp. To face either in the WCF if we got relative softies in the first two rounds (like a MEM and then a HOU) would make things more difficult for us. But we dont have to worry about this anymore since GSW will stay on our side of the bracket.

I understand your logic but the Warrioirs have the 2nd highest likelihood of beating us in the West. Houston might not be a top team but they have the right personnel to knock the Warrioirs out.

Damn...didn't realize Ant Man is suspended Sunday. They should still win, but the Jazz may be motivated to play spoiler.

To me there are 2 teams I want gone as early as possible: GSW and DEN. Both high upside teams that are most vulnerable early and in the case of DEN, they just got the Blue Arrow back. How well he will play of course is TBD, but the thought of them being able to reach form and actually playing hard defense with their massive revamp, is not good and Murray plays better the more he plays after he comes back from injury, meaning the time to get Denver is early. I did want LAC on the other side of the bracket but putting MIN there solves 2 things. Gives us the best chance to put DEN out before they can start hitting their groove and gives a soft opponent for OKC before the Conference Finals (assuming its Minnesota who beats Denver) where they will have to raise their level by a lot quickly for such an inexperienced team to face the Lakers. One key note also on MIN: they actually matchup pretty damn well vs OKC. There is an upset chance there, which will only be doing us a favor as MIN has no chance to beat us. Even if OKC beats MIN, there is no mental or confidence advantage to be gained there as facing the Lakers is a whole another beast from MIN. LAC's upside is worrying but the lack of travel and frankly, Im confident we can beat them whenever even if its not easy.

We lost to the Warriors and Jimmy was just coasting that game.

I think we are capable of beating any team assuming LeBron's groin holds up but anyone who wants to see the Warriors is crazy.

If you get the Warriors or the Clippers, oh well, you are going to have to face at least two really good teams in the West at some point but to actually wish for these matchups like John Ireland is nuts.

That was also a bad Luka game. Luka is not going to play like that every night and yet we had a chance of winning.

Podz is also not going to shoot like that every game. And I feel Jimmy was coasting because they were milking the hot hands. I think their style of play and particular collection of talent still leaves us the most vulnerable though. LFR podcast has a really good episode on this. What makes OKC, MIN, and MEM vulnerable to us is that they heavily rely on one really good playmaker. GSW has 3. And they have a lot more experience with small ball than we do.

Yeah it won't hurt their lottery chances if they win. So they may "experiment" by actually trying to win.

Exactly. GS will be an epic, memorable series.

Lakers will win, but it will be one for the ages.

Bunch of cowards in this thread.

Memphis has been meh late season, I'll pick them and hope the Warriors tire Houston in a 7 game series.
