Vanderbilt has some weird niche offensive strengths, he's not bad in the short roll/ he has some guard skills in handling and passing (at least, relative to his size). He's a great offensive rebounder. But he's just bad at every aspect of scoring besides transition offense.
I think mhan is 100% right btw. A floater/ push shot is the most realistic path he has to being able to punish teams for entirely leaving him alone. Asking him to finish as the low man comes to challenge him is just never gonna happen, and I'm skeptical on his 3 point shot.
OR, Vanderbilt just spends the entire offseason working on his 3 point shot. If Aaron Gordon did it, why not Vando (I guess)
The Lakers who did make the trip sat in a semicircle around a television in the visitors locker room at Moda Center on Sunday, watching the end of the Warriors-Clippers game with keen interest.
After Buddy Hield missed a last-second shot in OT to wrap up the game and finally sort out the seeding, Vanderbilt got up from his chair, gathered his belongings and made his way out of the locker room with an announcement: "We're going to Minnesota, boys!"
I am very disappointed that Vando was out a year and did not develop a 35%+ corner three and a foul line jumper.
Thise two shots would have made him a 30 minute a game player, and with that added bench player I would take the Lakers over everyone but Boston or OKC.
But as it stand he is good for 18-20 minutes and the team lacks that other PF to compliment Luka and Lebron.

Agree, I feel the same about Vando and have for a while now. Even the 18-20 minutes is giving him too much of a benefit of the doubt. He averaged 16 minutes in the regular season and I expect it to be much less for the playoffs. Vando may start out around 10-12 minutes and end up eventually a perpetual DNP-CD like he did for his last playoffs, especially if his defense is just decent and not game changing like we had witnessed before.
I hope he changes my mind, rooting for him, but I think I’ve seen enough. I’m anticipating Vando’s value for the Lakers to be salary matching with Kleber/Shake and a FRP for MTurner. _________________ When reasonably possible, I expect the Lakers to go after a ship like it can’t be denied. I haven’t seen a completely committed effort by the GM for the last 2 off seasons nor the last 2 trade deadlines. What is going on?

this (bleep) dude. doesn't even know his own team is a higher seed and has home court advantage, lol

Well to be fair... We do have to play in Minnesota for 2 games at least.

Unless he proves to be the secret sauce in the playoffs, I see him on the trade block, too. _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns".

There’s a reason why Minnesota was willing to get rid of him. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

His 12.4M in 26/27 likely makes him currently a negative trade value. You may have to give up 2 2nds or a protected 1st just to give him away. I hope I'm wrong.
