In related news, New Orleans plans on offering max money this summer to Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva.

Wow they actually downgraded lol.

Dumars is the Byron Scott of GMs. A relic in the modern era. Get ready for the Pels to play "old school" basketball while other teams run circles around them for the 50th time.

Then again I can't think of a more deserving organization. Their fans are legitimately garbage.

Nico Harrison held a private closed door media availability today with a small group of reporters.

Dallas beat guy:

Quote:
I was not among the reporters invited to speak with Dallas Mavericks GM Nico Harrison and CEO Rick Welts this morning.

A front office that is confident in its moves doesn't need to speak only to selected media without recording devices.

This has been an utterly bizarre season.

Sucks that Jalen Suggs is out for season, hope Paolo and Franz Wagner have a series against BOS when they're through with ATL. ATL has no chance with BOS.

The East is a joke. Has been since the '90s.

easy series for Boston. East is so pathetic, every preseason they all hyping up how much improved east will be, but by playoff times, same top heavy conference. why is that actually? this is not just in recent years. ever since the Bulls run in the 90s, west has been the much more competitive conference. it's been like this for 25+ years now.

what are the chances clippers get by the nuggets?

I think nuggets take it in 5 or 6 but cilppers have a punchers chance if they can steal a game in denver

It's cyclical. The Showtime Lakers went to 8 straight WCF (and 10 out of 12, winning 9), while the Celtics, Sixers, Pistons and Bulls beat the hell out of each other in the East every playoffs.

If Kawhi is healthy. Clippers win that series. Denver doesn't have the floor spacing they did in past playoffs.

Thats the big IF that I am assuming will not break in the favor of the clippers. That and Harden playing as good/better than he did in the regular season

Free Agency combined with conferences. The West may be better, but it has basically the same odds in the lottery for the top 3 guys. So, the west drafts just as many tier 1 guys and the Free Agent movement favors parts of the West.

There's a chance a 48 win team could have pingpong balls for Cooper this year.

Kawhi has been playing 40+ minutes in recent games.

Sure, the Clippers are gonna choke. And Harden is gonna choke.
But I think they can make it out of the 1st round.

all good points and I agree if Kawhi can keep it up, they may get out. I actually hope we see them in the Western Conference finals.

That's true but outside of the aberration that was MJ's Bulls, the West has been dominant for the better part of 35 years. 90s Suns, Sonics, Jazz, Spurs were all regularly 60 win teams with others like Portland and Lakers elite in some years (end of 90s for the Lakers). That's not even counting Houston who dind't rack up the regular season wins but went back to back. By the times the Bulls ascended to their first championship, Sixers/Pistons/Celtics were finished. They were completely irrelevant by the early 90s. Bulls contended with at most the Knicks, the Heat and briefly Orlando before Shaq came here. None of those teams held a lick to the 90s elite WC teams I mentioned.

OKC, the Spurs, and the Rockets were three very young teams set to battle it out in the West for the next decade.

But now with Luka and most of our core being 25/26oish we're in there too as well.

So that's 4 teams just fighting it out. It's going to be hell

Magic vs. Hawks, Warriors vs Grizzlies. I like the Dubs over the Grizz. I hope Curry's finger doesn't mess with his shot. I like the Hawks over the Magic.

How good do you all project Banchero and Wagner to be?

Better than TMac and Mike Miller had Orlando kept them together like McGrady wanted. TMac had said before he asked the front office to keep them together and start Miller, but they traded him for Goodwin and Giriceik because players don’t make personnel decisions 🤣

I am calling a Clippers upset in that series.

Denver needed a humbling and they are going to get it.

It will be interesting to see which teams will be opening their wallets for him. Overpaying for the wrong franchise player is a common mistake. But I wouldn't have thought the Cavs would be doing so well with Mitchell either. I would hope TY isn't the type the Lakers would be going after, not that it's something to worry about anymore.
