Thanks DB for all of your thoughtful and insightful commentary! And thanks to Mrs. DB & family for your sacrifices!!
IMO, the off-season is cut and dried. Rob's failure to fill out the roster is obvious. He needs to improve on making roster improvements.
Jeanie needs to refrain from signing off on givng Bron a max extension or fail to negotiate a lower salary for Bron if he doesn't retire. Otherwise Rob will be hamstrung from doing what he needs with roster enhancements.
JJ has failures in not using the roster he has to its full potential. He also can improve on making the proper in-game adjustments (and maybe improve his coaching staff) and improve on his chippiness during questioning by the press. However, I blame Rob more than JJ. Being a rookie coach with no prior coaching experience gives him some slack.
Best wishes for a successful off-season! |

Big Thanks to DB and to his wife/plus family for providing the time to prepare for the detailed breakdowns that are greatly appreciated!!!
Lakers have been transformed from a fading future with the uber talented AD (who has never shown the ability to be Da Man/#1 Option, even when LBJ gave him The Keys) to a bright future with Luka for the next decade.
Lakers are with a HC that has the full support of Luka to LBJ to AR and others, as oppose to Ham (probably a good HC that will likely get another HC job in a few years) where AD and LBJ were openly questioning his strategies.
JJ has done an excellent job as a rookie HC in the NBA's most iconic and scrutinized job that has shown great potential (being LBJ's podcast partner certainly helped) and seemingly with the ability to learn from his mistakes - all Eric Spoelstra
One wonders what were the reasons why Kleber was playing over Hayes to Jenisen to Len?
Will Rob go after a FA center or via trade, as his first priority.
With AR relegated to continually have to box out bigs, did this tire AR out?
With LBJ's MCL's injury, it would have been very difficult to beat the TWolves without LBJ
Team is definitely in a better place than last year and with a few strategic additions will be a legitimate contender next season |
