I shall likely be talking to myself a lot in this thread lol

I meant to start this yesterday with the Sparks versus the Valkyries. I see the Sparks were able to come up victorious

This game between the New York Liberty and the Las Vegas Aces has been quite enjoyable. Oh and that's why they kept talking about Angel Reese Chicago and Indiana are next, so Angel Reese versus Caitlyn Clark. It's not the same as the NBA but it does help me maintain my mental during the NBA off-season.

I'll leave the Sparks specific thread to Scoffs as he normally does each season. We had a major acquisition so I am hopeful the Sparks will have a better year this year and will be able to see some fun games from them.

I haven't 150% been paying attention but this Indiana / Chicago game is not as engaging as the previous game was lol. But Caitlin Clark is indeed a talent.

Saw the highlights. If she continues to improve on last season's efficiency I think she wins the MVP.

Also watched the Fever/Sky game yesterday. It's such a joke how ABC was trying so hard to hype up the Clark/Reese "rivalry". There's no rivalry. They're not even close in terms of talent and importance to their teams.

I'm afraid not. As much as I like Reese, unless some dramatic development happens for her I don't see her on the same tier as Caitlin.

Sounds like Caitlin was tired of waiting for her teammates to defend her and bulked up over the summer.

Watching the Sparks game that aired earlier. I was about to say we're not looking too good right now however it looks like we're staging a little bit of a comeback here. It's nice to have some really solid vets on the squad again.

Welp watched a replay of the Sparks/Mercury game that happened earlier today. It was a good game but they allowed a big comeback from the Mercury and then it became another near miss loss by the Sparks. Alas Kelsey Plum couldn't get going and it felt like we missed Hella free throws in the fourth. Fix that and we probably could've won. So I hope this isn't gonna be yet another season of frustrating near misses. We do look better in my opinion. And of course the season just started so...

Must confess I don’t watch a ton of WNBA beyond occasional highlights or what pops up in the social media feed, but been seeing a lot of Angel Reese slander in online lately.

Looking at stats and highlights, how is it possible for her to be so bad at finishing layups? It’s a bit crazy that you can be a professional but not be able to finish simple layups. Most of her rebounds seem to be from her own misses, so I’m not seeing why she is so hyped.

Reese is a very smart girl, she knows her basketball skills are limited, so she fabricated herself into the leader of anti-Caitlin Clark movement. reminds me of Ruben Patterson from more than 2 decades ago who self-claimed "The Kobe Stopper" just to make a name for himself.

Well just watched the replay of the Sparks versus Valkyrie game that happened yesterday. And it followed a familiar pattern. Sparks went on a complete scoring drought in the fourth to try and make a fake comeback late in the fourth to take it to overtime but then lost in overtime lol

Klay was so bad at layups early in his career that they became nicknamed Klay-ups. Needless to say he improved lol

I guess it's the same as otherwise good shooters who are bad at the free-throw line you know? Nobody is perfect at everything we're all human.

Nneka Ogwumike Pretty much comes back to LA and kicks our patootie every time lol

And Kelsey Plum is suffering from an unknown leg injury and they don't have a schedule for her return.

EDIT - yeah… that was not good lol

Ok...

When the Sparks played the Seattle Storm we looked particularly pathetic but now I just saw them against the Las Vegas Aces and the Storm are obviously one of the more dominant team this season so it makes me feel a little bit better about our pathetic loss.

Anyway the Las Vegas Aces are struggling this season but the Storm/Aces game was still a good game.

Everyone loves Sophie now. Best move she ever did was sticking up for CC.

Plus Sophie isn't a lesbian and is super attractive. Guys will watch now

Valkyries are having a nice debut season.

By contrast the Storm are not and it was hard to figure out why. ... you know folks played well but it seemed like they just ran out of steam.

Anyway that was a good game and I see the sparks won the other day I need to go back and watch that game at some point

Yay Sparks won! (Vs Indiana Fever)

I haven't been keeping up as much with the games as I wanted to firstly because I've been busy and traveling a lot but also they aren't easily televised all the time there's a WNBA league pass they're trying to get people to buy it's not that much it's $35 I might consider it.

Anyway I saw the score versus the New York liberty and I didn't even feel like watching the replay but watch the replay of this game versus the fever and it was a fun game and close game and we pulled through 💪
