Glock looked really bad. Missed wide open spot up shots and shows no ability to create his own shot or shoot with a hand in his face. I dont see any improvement at all from last year. Glock should know from last year that stretching the floor and playing solid D are his best ways of getting on the floor.

Morris played alot better. Took control of the team on the floor but mainly created for himself as nobody on this team can hit a jumper to save their lives. Was able to get in the lane all game but that's not so impressive with who he was playing against.

Sacre looks ok on offense. I think with proper coaching and a little drive he could improve alot in that aspect. Sacre is a terrible rebounder though. Never crashes the boards. Does not box out well. SA had numerous tip in attempts.

DJO is going to have to find a jumper very fast or I cant see him making the team. Has decent playmaking skills. Can get in the lane but dosent even seem to try very often. When in the lane he has a hard time finishing because of his height. Mainly will look for contact and a foul.

Flame the mob boss Kobe! Flame away! You don't get the calls as is, you get an entire CBA aimed at penalizing the Lakers for your contract, you got nothing to lose. Flame that short little (bleep).

By the way, I agree Stern's idea is just plain stupid.

Morris was probly told if he didnt play better we was gonna get cut..

He played way better today fersure...ran the offense ..less dribbling ..simple post entry passes...drove the lane at the right times and applied good ball pressure on Corey Joseph ..much better Darius! Glock and the rest though still suck

I missed the game - I'm a bit surprised by Morris' box score - was it all drives up the lane or did he hit from any distance as well? 4 assists, 4 turnovers, were his assists all fast break or did he organize any half court plays this time?

I take it the Laker squad was not as laughably bad tonight? Or did just a couple players carry the team?

I barely got to see any of this game. Saw a few Morris hihlights, and while I still don't think he is NBA material he might be better off playing sg instead of pg. I just don't get the feeling the guy is a legit pg. I didnt see much od Sacre but I'm hoping he played decently, because I'd like to see him make the team over J.O'neal.

Just before half time, Morris finally did something which I think he should be doing in every summer league game. He posted up Cory Joseph, and score easily over him.

With an almost 2-4 inches advantage over most defending PG, the coaching should have order him to do that everytime and force the other coach to adjust.

When he played for Michigan, he posted up very well. He and the coaching stuff should watch more Andre Miller or Peyton video to seet how they back down smaller defender.

Most of Morris points came from aggressive drives to the basket and free throws, but he did make one very nice fade away jumper with the shot clock running down. Morris played more of a scoring point guard role, but did move the ball well enough and had the occasional good pass in the half court. Definitely was the best Laker in the game. I also wouldn't fault him too much for focusing on scoring because he played a majority of his minutes with Khazzouh, Somogyi, Eyenga, and Murry/Nelson and prevented the game from turning into a blowout.

Morris has to improve consistently to be worth keeping on the roster, guy has been schizo out there. Amazing game today though.

Today DMO definitely showed some good promise.
Most of the time he showcased some slick and solid ball handling skills which allowed him to create separation from his marker. This allowed him to either make an uninterrupted pass to his teammate or trigger his 2nd gear and drive pass his marker.

He did that consistently throughout the whole game.
I was however totally disgusted by one of his turnovers. He received the ball inbound on our own court, and he tried to ignite a quick counter attack but lost his dribble completely (meaning the ball went 3 metres ahead of him wtf lol). An opponent picked up the ball and scored an And-1 on him.

All in all, he is an earnest young man and I do see some significant improvements. I seriously do see some Andre Miller in him, and learning from Steve Nash will definitely groom him nicely.

He is a keeper imo. As for Sacre, I can't emphasize enough on how unathletic he is. Yes I agree on his high energy level, and his defensive awareness. But just toooooooooooo slow to be effective. To make things worse, he literally has a 2 inch vertical, no kidding. Dude plays under the rim and can barely dunk despite being 7ft :|
Lastly, his rebounding is so bad, I think Murphy can secure 10/10 rebounds away from him. Its hilariously poor. So many times I saw opponents (guards sometimes!!) snatch offensive rebound above him. SMH.

The last debate is DJO vs Glock. Quite frankly, I like DJO's athleticism and maturity on court. But whats the point of that if he can't shooot? Players like him are culpable for our last season's anaemic offence. I strongly contend that we should not have him on our team.

Glock ... oh glock ... ZERO IMPROVEMENT. Sigh. I had so much hope for this boy. I was hoping he can become our mario chalmer - sharp shooting point guard. But boy has disappointed me dearly. His passing is terrible. His ball handling is ineffective. His defense is questionable. His athleticism and related qualities such as rebounding are non-existent. I question whether he can even duplicate his output last season.

And just a quick note on Eyenga. I think he really intrigues us with his potential. Dude has some blinding speed, body strength, vertical and reaction. I also saw him make some wowing spin move followed by And-1 one handed shot. Why I think he still remains an interesting prospect is because I think he can be molded into a defensive specialist.
We must not expect him to be an offensive player, and learn to shoot 3s or improve his ball handling. I think what is more important is to groom his defensive skill, and perhaps teach him on how to make cuts. Get those 2 skills, then we talk about 3s.

Im watching the TWolves vs Bobcats right now and this guy Paulo Prestes the center is very impressive imo...he's like the brazilian version of Pecovick and would be a nice backup to Bynum imo. Doesnt get off the ground but he plays good position defense and grabs boards plus he has a nice soft touch..

FWIW, Sacre ran the floor and dunked with ease at Gonzaga, and is likely just a bit tentative offensively at the summer league (that's a knock on him, can tend to be offensively passive). He has a 30" vert BTW. Just doesn't jump quickly.

I bet he just said (bleep) it and ignored Chuck Person's (Mike Brown's) offense and did his own thing. We'll see how he does next game.

I was at the Summer League Tuesday and Wednesday. Saw most of the teams. My observations will be based on Summer League talent.

The Rockets' picks look very good. White is extemely strong and is a great passer, but doesn't look for his shot first.

T Jones looks like he could end up an outstanding pro. Between his body and skill set, he should do very well. But, in the summer league, he didn't know what to do inside the Rockets' offense. He looked very passive most of the time.

Lamb looks like he's going to be a great shooter. He has extremely long arms. He looks like a very aggressive and strong(as in good) player.

They also have Montiejunas who looks like a very good scorer who is really quick. He isn't strong, but isn't weak.

I watched a lot of games. If you have a specific question about a player, let me know and I might be able to answer.

Only other guy I want to talk about is Damian Lillard. This guy looks awesome! Only saw 3/4 of the game but this guy is the whole package. He took contol of the whole offense and looks like an excellent leader. This guy has a perfect stroke, can drive the lane, and you can tell he has extreme confidence in his ability. He puts effort in on defense In my opinion, he wi be second or third in rookie of the year.

While I was sitting in Cox Pavillion, one row and five seats away was Klay Thompson. I was jokingly telling my wife that I should tell him that Kupcheck wants him to be a Laker. When he got up to get some nachos my wife said, "Hey Klay, Kupcheck wants you to be a Laker.". He said," Me too."

Here's the highlight of the game I was watching:
People kept shaking the hand of the guy in front of me. I figured he must be a scout, and I could see over his shoulder at his notes. I didn't see much just the players he was scouting, but then he took his smart phone out and I could read his text messages. He was scouting point guards. The only ones I could see were that the Miami Heat was not completely happy with Norris Cole. He's in the summer league to learn to be a pass first PG. Also, he had a text for Scott Machado. Next to his name it just said, "No". Finally, he flipped to another page on his phone and the text messages were going to Joe Dumars.

Nothing groundbreaking. Was hoping to get more, but that's all I could get. Just thought I share this with you.

Darius, Eyenga and Sacre are all about a year away from getting quality playing time (and deserving it) but they are the only youth the Lakers are going to have over the next two years. Gotta keep em.

As much as people want Glock to succeed, his roll is filled by Morris (no outside shot), Nash and Blake (who is probably just as good a clutch shooter at this time and a better defender).

Eyenga can develop an outside shot playing behind Kobe. As someone else said...if he can develop his defense and play with 3 other shooters on the floor (Bynum, Pau, Jamison, Blake) he should be fine. If he has to play with guys that can't hit outside shots (McBob, Morris) he's going to struggle to be productive.

People have got to remember how bad a shooter Rondo was. He's still not good, but serviceable.

Eyenga will be productive. Plus, he plays a position where Kobe is going to get 80% of the play time anyway.

Can't wait for the season to start. Young guys are still developing.

Well at least they did not lose by 40 or 50 points, so they are moving in the right direction...!

Eyenga has great potential

Uhhh... what exactly is that tattoo Nelson has sticking up from the top of her jersey??

Khazzouh looks pretty intriguing. Big guy can shoot. I wouldn't mind seeing him in camp.

Just got home before halftime - saw some highlights though.

I take back my comments about Eyenga - He's worth a look in training camp!
