Do we have to stick with one rotation for all teams we face?

Also, how (and how quickly) will the sims be done? Just want to get a good idea of how to set my lineups and when I would get an opportunity to change them if they're not working.

I would recommend that we stick with a rotation unless we feel we want to tweak it to something else (not based on matching up, but rather finding a sweet spot). Maybe we can have a set number of "tweaks" as to not add more work for GT to sift through pages and make changes to this thread before going through the arduous simming process. That's just my feeling on it, and probably how I'm going to go about it.

Im pretty sure you can change your lineup anytime you want.this includes minutes and positions.I think most of us will find our best rotation and run with it but also find match ups that work against certain teams.

You do not have to stick with one rotation for every team, and can change it whenever you'd like. The schedule is going to mirror the 1979-80 season schedule, and how many games are simmed on a particular day will reflect how many games were played on that day in the 79-80 schedule. Just like the real NBA, there will be some days with a full slate of games, and other days with just a couple.

I'll try to adhere to that as best as I can, although real life commitments may alter that a bit.

Will we get a season schedule so we know when our games will be and what not?

Here's my rotation.

PG: Steve Nash-24 mpg, Isaiah Thomas- 24 mpg

SF: Ray Allen-32 mpg, Dudley Bradley- 16 mpg

Feels good to finally be starting this thing. Didn't think that draft would ever end!

This may be a stupid question, since it is just a sims and probably does not play out this way, but do we just allot minutes and not when the minutes come? Will the sim play Magic, for example, for 35 minutes straight, and then Rose for the last 13? Or will it be split up somehow?

I have never done a simulation like this, so I don't know if it will just simulate the game or all 48 minutes and overtimes? Does it simulate a tied game with a minute to go? If so, I'd much rather have Magic in the game than Rose.

Or am I over-thinking it?

Even if they've gone over over their allotted time and stats start declining?

Which I guess is the norm for an NBA game.

I should note that if my players don't all get better the more minutes they play I will cry incessantly over the unfair treatment I am getting.

I have no clue if it makes sense to let everyone play, but what the heck:

PG: Chauncey Billups - 23 mpg, Baron Davis - 20 mpg, Pete Maravich - 5 mpg
SG: Kobe Bryant - 40 mpg, Pete Maravich - 5 mpg, Lionel Hollins - 3 mpg
SF: Dominque Wilkins - 30 mpg, Connie Hawkins - 8 mpg, Kyle Korver - 10 mpg
PF: Horace Grant - 25 mpg, Connie Hawkins - 18 mpg, Shareef Abdur-Rahim - 5 mpg
C: Nate Thurmond - 38 mpg, Theo Ratliff - 5 mpg, Horace Grant - 5 mpg

If the sim is taking non-rotation players and subbing them in for foul trouble and overtime, I'd rather be the one in charge of minutes and position.

If the sim is taking non-rotation players and subbing them in for foul trouble and overtime, I'd rather be the one in charge of minutes and position.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe what the Sim does, in instances of blow outs or foul trouble, is it uses the next player on your depth chart. For example, at the SF spot, you could give player "a" 30 min, player "b" 18 min, player "c" 0 min and player "d" 0 min. Where there is a blow out or both players "a" and "b" get in foul trouble, the sim will default to player "c." I don't think you have to give player "c" any actual minutes for that to happen, just give that play 0 min and it works.

If true, that helps.
