This will be the thread we can use to shoot the (bleep).

There will be 4 playoff teams in each conference. Each division winner will be guaranteed a playoff spot, and there will be 2 divisions per conference.

Having posted my opening rotation, I like the character of my team. Not enough Lakers on the squad, but what can you do

I was going to start discussing which players I am surprised weren't drafted, but if people are allowed to continuously make changes to their rosters I will just keep my mouth shut.

i just wanted to see if a higher team payroll makes a difference or is it about how well your team fits together in the sim.

Why do I have the feeling that a few certain unnamed posters will check out the opposing team's announced assignments before the game, then run multiple sims and tinker with their line-ups until they find one that beats the opposing team. God bless you in advance if you have that much competitive drive and time on your hands.

I can't imagine who might do that!

I've simmed a few games. It seems like I'm just as likely to blow a team out as I am to get blown out by the same team. Hope for the best I guess.

I have experienced the same thing. I have been able to tell when a lineup is clearly bad, but not when it is clearly good or clearly average. I have even simmed games against terrible competition and end with the same result.

We will be using the 1979-80 NBA Season as the template for the schedule, and each of our teams will match up with a real life team from that year for scheduling purposes.

Atlanta Dirty Birds = Atlanta Hawks
Boston Strong = Boston Celtics
Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stouts = New Jersey Nets
Chicago Bull-Crap = Chicago Bulls
Cleveland Rocks = Cleveland Cavaliers
Detroit Gems = Detroit Pistons
Golden State 49ers = Golden State Warriors
Hickory Hoosiers = Indiana Pacers
Houston Rockets = Houston Rockets
Los Angeles Lakers = Los Angeles Lakers
Manhattan Alpacas = New York Knicks
Memphis Blues = Philadelphia 76ers
Miami Heatles = Washington Bullets
Minnesota Wrath of Kahn = Milwaukee Bucks
New Orleans Brass = Denver Nuggets
Phoenix Fury = Phoenix Suns
Portland Pale Alers = Portland Trailblazers
San Antonio Burrs = San Antonio Spurs
San Diego Clippers = San Diego Clippers
Seattle Kings of Sacramento = Seattle Supersonics
Spirit of St. Louis = Kansas City Kings
Utah Stars = Utah Jazz

The simulator is muy muy random. You can get 9/10 and then lose 8 of the next 10.

BTW, should we all remind GT the players that have split seasons on our roster? I'm just curious how automated or error proof this is. Wondering if GT has to manually look up each player for each team. You can easily pick the wrong year.

I've simmed games against my first 2 opponents. It definitely likes one matchup more than the other for my team. I just thought the blowouts going both ways was interesting. Even going against historical teams, I'm much more likely to beat the 87 Lakers than the 96 Bulls.

You might want to list each player with a year, just so you have it for reference.
