I like Snaer a lot. Would not surprise me if he got a shot. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel
Souleyman Diabate played in the french league and is a 6ft. point guard who has tremendous leaping ability.dont know how well he does other things but he can fly for a point guard.
I really like the summer league team that the Lakers have put together this time around. I don't know how these teams are composed, but the fact that we have young athletic players and a couple of players that's been in and out of the league that are still young, tells me that the Lakers are changing their mindset.
Why not put some vets on a team and let them compete (SPURS) roll the dice and see what happens, mix in a couple of young guys and give it a shot!
When you look at that last series between the Spurs and the Heat, it wasn't personnel that lost the championship it was a few bad coaching moves in 5/6 that caused the turnaround.
The NBA is a league where established well rounded Vets can excel, I'm not saying they can win it all, but anything is possible. With some young guns willing to learn, create and relieve some of the travel pressure's of the NBA, the lakers could be fine... Maybe not playoff fine, but exciting TANKAPALOOZA fine!
Will watch CDR and Snaer closely. I think that they could be role players for us in the future....not expecting much from the rest of the gang. Curious to watch Sacre, Selby and Hummer.
^^buzzer beaters. 5 game winning shots in his college career. some catch and shoot, some off the dribble. pull up and a layup.
smells like laker clutch to me. _________________ LAL4K3RS wrote: He(Kobe) is the white haired kung fu master that you realize is older than dirt but can still kick your arse when in a sitting position drinking a nice herbal tea.

Yeah, he should be good for a few highlights.
damn

Nice!! This summer league team is already looking MUCH better than that embarrassment we had last year.
I'm very interested to see Marcus Landry, Jordan Williams and Elias Harris too. But above all, I'm really hoping the Lakers keep CDR and Snaer. They could be solid bench guys for us going forward.
Mitchell Watt is good. Saw a Buffalos game last night, he knows how to finish around the rim, does some nice cuts, very good jumper for a Power Forward, decent rebounder and shotblocker. Kinda reminds me a bakrupt's man Jamison
Oh, and this summer league team sure is legit. Josh Selby and Hayward are already summer league veteran studs, and CDR should look like a Superstar against the competition we will face. I sure wish Snaer does better than he did with the Thunder's summer league team. Let's go Lakers ._.

i dont think so. he's only 6"5, but then again he was compared to Tony Allen, and our SG's are not very good defensively, so i think he still has a chance to make our roster. Somebody got to play defense after all, and that isn't Kobe or Young specialty.

I'm rooting for Snaer....6'5" shooting guard who can put the ball on the floor and also play defense....get rid of Meeks please....
Everyone is always complaining about the Lakers small shooting guards (Meeks, Goudelock, DJO)
I hope Snaer does well. If he really can shoot well, I would take him over CDR. But the Lakers will still need to find another SF. Come on, Snaer is young, athletic and inexpensive.

Summer league is a guard's league. We'll see if he does well. He has not done well for OKC in the Orlando summer league, but a change of scenery may do him good. _________________ Kobe
Harris is nice, he has good size and great activity level! I hope he continues to get better during the VSL so he might actually get a camp invite with us not having a lock at the SF position!

After their pitiful showing in the summer league last year, this team is very athletic and has plenty of talent to go around. They play really good defense. Unfortunately, not many of them stand out to where I'd say "that guy deserves a roster spot," other than maybe Landry. I like a couple of the fwd's other than Landry, and I like Lester Hudson as the athletic, capable pg the Lakers have lacked since the beginning of time. I realize they've made commitments to various guys but if the good play continues, I wouldn't mind seeing at least 3 summer leaguers make it onto the roster this season. They're relatively young and have shown the exceptional foot speed and hustle to play defense, which is exactly what the team needs badly.
As certain players do well on occasions, they develop value around the league and then the team could even parlay that into some type of trade for a player (remembering Mo Evans and Brian Cook for Ariza) or draft picks.

He seems really good and I like him, but the question remains: If he really is that good, how come he went undrafted?

Because his NBA skill level is perceived borderline.
Look at Goudelock, he has one NBA skill and it's perimeter shooting.
Even B.J. Young got signed by the Rockets, because his NBA skill is attacking the basket.
Snaer isn't as definitive when it comes to an NBA 3pt. shot, playmaking, and ball-handling. He doesn't come off as a pure shooter or a point guard. Does he have a midrange game? No. What about ability to finish 5' and in, and not just dunk?
He's 3 and D, with a low release point and lacking some strength. Don't get me wrong, because I like him A LOT. He hits open shots. He's unselfish. He can finish with authority. But, unless there's elite level D potential out there, where he needs to bulk up just to match up with NBA guards, the gap from midrange offensively will show glaringly. _________________ Resident Car Nut.
