Why is this topic still here? This place isn't moderated very closely, is it?
He's going to have good games and good moments in BKN. On a team that's playing for nothing, he'll probably have even more of them.
But remember these performances:
Current season while on the Lakers: 12.4/2.8/4.7 on .415/.333/.849
Last year's series against DEN: 14.2/2.8/4.2 on .384/.318/.500
December of last season: 10.2/2.1/5.4 on 41/32.7/72.7
2023 playoffs: 13.3/2.9/4.6 on .426/.310/.769
2023 series against DEN: 6.3/2/3.5 on .323/.133/.750
He's just ultimately not good at fitting onto a team trying to win. Minnesota and GSW found that out too. |

Funny, when he's allowed to actually be a point guard he looks like the exact type of player the Lakers would want
22 pts on 9/13 shooting with 9 assists and the only player on their team with a positive +/- ( game isn't over as I'm posting the stats ). |

He’s exactly the player we don’t want. Slow, terrible perimeter defender, low bball iq, inconsistent and shrinks in the playoffs when it matters. There’s ample data that he didn’t fit to what the squad was trying to do. He’s not good enough for us to fit what he is as a player. |

DLO may have become a mismatch with current needs, but a lot of posters show abject ignorance to what he added to this team to put them in the playoff picture since he arrived.
Hypocrites blather about him disappearing in the playoffs, yet get their panties in a knot at the thought of trading Rui Hachimura. As if Rui didn't disappear against Denver? LMAO. DLO scored twice as much as Rui, who was a complete non-factor against Denver, for almost the same salary. Same disappearance moniker can be laid on any other Laker not named LeBron, Anthony, or Austin.
I see this thread's moved, that's a good thing. He's no longer on the Laker squad.
That said, DLO added a lot for the Lakers, within the skill set he was capable of performing in. Many posters could see the good and the bad, but the ignorant one-sided negative takes on this thread were far too frequent, and a sad commentary on how some people find scapegoats to oversimplify anything they don't fully understand. |

The problem with DLo, is that we have Reaves and Lebron. They all have similar responsibilities so then the issue becomes what else can you offer on the court if your primary skillset has to be distributed to others too? No team can maximize 3 ball-handling players to its fullest potential.
Front office decided that 3 point guards wasn’t needed as much as another 3 and D wing. And DLo was the one with the expiring contract….so this is the result. Time will tell if it was the right move…. |

Valid, fair take. I was iffy on Austin being up to full time facilitator when LeBron sits for most of this season, but so far this past couple weeks he's taken a major step up. If he can keep at the level he's played at for the foreseeable future, then mad respect to Austin, plus that is one big gap the Lakers don't have to fill in DLO's absence. I hope you're right. |

Carried off the court tonight in the middle of an 11 point 12 assist game vs Milwaukee in his start. Always awful to see happen. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

I doubt they miss the Laker playoff record of 7 threes, ma’am. |

Bron ball, moon ball, racquet ball, doesn't matter. DLO in the playoffs is statistically one of the worst players in NBA history. Averaged 12 PPG on 33 FG% against Memphis in 2022 It's who he is, my friend. |
