After a long and disappointing season it was nice the Lakers got a win in the last game of the season, what with it being Kobe's last ever game for the Lakers it was always going to be about him. Scoring 60 pts which broke records, first it's the highest amount a player has scored this season in a game it was Davis against Detroit before Kobe broke it. Another record Kobe broke was scoring the highest amount of points in a player's last ever NBA game.
I have to admit I thought the Lakers weren't going to win this game but in the fourth quarter when Kobe took it to another level you could start to see the the Lakers getting the win. Everything was coming from Kobe and scored the basket to put the Lakers in the lead late on in the game. I liked how Kobe's last play as a Laker was throwing the ball down court for Clarkson to score. Ending the game with the starting line-up as Russell, Clarkson, Kobe, Nance Jr and Rande was excellent to see, the young core playing alongside Kobe for the final time. And the moment where Kobe hugged Randle, Clarkson and Russell could be an iconic moment.
Kobe broke the Lakers Twitter account at one point, the Warriors beating the Bulls record isn't getting as much attention or talked about because of Kobe and his 60 points. Last night's game was the perfect send off for Kobe, it was a typical Kobe performance and everything was about him which just felt right. Seeing former players like Lamar Odom and Shaq at the game was great to see. _________________ Coach MWP. |

Just saw the whole thing on replay. 3am start here didn't let me see it live. I cried 3 times at the beginning and a little at the end. That hug with Clarkson/Randle/Russell/Nance at the end was amazing! Blessed to be have been able to witness this man's final game and the performance he gave us. I am thankful for all the years I've been following him and the motivation he's given everyone to work hard and become the best we can be. Thank you for everything Kobe! I am glad that we can appreciate what you've done and can move towards the future you have paved for this basketball generation with no regrets. _________________ RIP Kobe |

No words to describe last night. I was watching it at a sports bar with friends and you would have thought we won the NBA title. I haven't felt that way since game 7 against Boston.
Thank you Kobe. |

Yes, I was fortunate to stumble onto the Davis game live on League Pass once I saw he was starting to go off. His 59 point game was a great performance but Kobe BEAN Bryant eclipsed it. EPIC!!! |

Kobe's performance went a long way to ease some of the pain of an otherwise dreadful season. |

We had Kobe going for 60 and beating the team who set the wins records. Two great moments most playoffs would die for.
Most interesting 17 win team in NBA history |

I'm glad I was watching this alone because I was tearing up in the final seconds. I'm still so amped and giddy though. What a perfect sendoff. 60 points in a comeback win, my god _________________ Macho Men:

I went to the game last night and took metro and the buzz was already in the air once we exited the station temporarily named the kobe station...once we walked over to staples you could see the kobe posters/selfies along side the building and the sea of laker fans as far as the eye could see....the entrance line was already leading into the street some two hours before the game started. the line for the team la store were the farewell memorabilia sold out was around the corner. between staples and la live the street was blocked off and it was like it was during the parades.
once we entered staples the energy was electric and for the first time ever I didn't see one opposing teams jersey/gear...lol
the opening kobe intro was sick, the game was fantastic and the crowd was amazing...
I cant imagine any other team bringing in all the former players/teammates like the lakers did specially for a player that the media considered to be a bad teammate to these very same former players....glad I was able to be a part of history....#lakers _________________ RIP.....Pop (AJ Sr.) 7/09/23-01/20/09
Thanks for 35 years of love, sacrifice and joy...also for taking me to all the lakers games at the GW forum as a youngster and helping me understand the joy that comes from watching a lakers game |
