can't answer the question about january 6 without throwing a random dig in on Kamala. Then moving on to sidestepping the question and saying Trump left office peacefully, lol. Then attacking Kamala again instead of answering the question.
Just wild how he can answer questions this way.
Also calling Tulsi Gabbard and RFK Jr as lifelong democratic leaders in the democratic party is laugh out loud funny. |

A decent debate, far better not having Trump involved. Still, the Kamala/Walz team continues to fail on inflation and explaining it's origins, and Vance kept digging in and chewing him up on it. Allowing Vance to continue to say Kamala wants to censor speech was also a missed opportunity.
I'm guessing that the polling on this will be somewhere in the 55/45 range, one way or the other.

I know I'm biased but I agree while acknowledging Vance likely improved his image. I don't know if he accurately translated Trump's gibberish because only Trump knows what he's actually trying to say. I do believe whatever headway Vance may have made for Trump tonight will be quickly undone by Ol' Donny the next time he gets in front of a mic.
It was nice to watch a political debate where both candidates behaved like adults and spoke in coherent sentences. It was quite a throwback.

Vance on Fox News trying to blame Iran's actions on Biden and Harris. 
I've been very critical of our White House on Gaza and our unconditional support of Israel.
Meanwhile Vance is saying if Harris came out strongly for genocide, this Iran attack wouldn't be happening.
Now he's blaming them for climate change.
These stupid arguments only work on people, who were always gonna vote for Trump anyways.

Debates depend on honest brokers on both sides. When one side spews a fire hose of lies (JD just does it in a more polished way than Trump) it is impossible for the other side to combat every lie. Their entire 2 minutes would be taken up with fact checking the 10 lies Vance told in his 2 minutes.
So they have to pick and choose their spots. I think the strategy was for Walz to stay in nice guy format, not attack dog format.
So the zinger at the end on who won the election and JD's allegiance being to Trump rather than the office stood out.
But yeah, I personally prefer attack dog Walz. |

This is true. My daughter in her middle school debate team learned that if you allow an opponent to make a claim and you fail to challenge or refute the claim, the judge may accept that as a truth because you failed to challenge it. |

Shapiro would have SMOKED vance in the debate, but I think the Walz choice was "do no harm", and seem authentic, which he did in spades.

Vance was polished, Walz stumbled.
Walz was good on Jan. 6.

Of seven undecided voters on CNN, one, the whitest male (by a visual that is), was the only one to say he made up his mind by the debate. He's going for Kamala. I only mention that it was a he, and a white he, as this what she needs.

Throw in the absolute refusal to acknowledge that Trump lost in 2020 (and double down by saying you believe “there were a lot of problems with the results”) while also avoiding the direct question about accepting the results of this election and you have a person who has proven themself to be unfit for office.

I think the whole thing was a wash. Vance's job was to seem normal and not scary and Walz' job was to do no harm.
