This Luka trade sounds like it was a lengthy discussion over several weeks. What was most impressive was how it remained a secret. Not that easy to accomplish. Kudos to Rob. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

Okay Rob is officially back to being Magic Pelinka.
He has a hot hand. Luka and now Mark Williams. Maybe we get another big thru the buyout market.
What I do know is he also has this summer set up as one where the Lakers can land another big piece.
$40M in expiring contracts to make a deal with (Gabe, Rui and Kleber). |

That’s actually very cool of Rob. The Westbrook deal, getting…and getting rid of him…getting Luka, and now Williams, all under the radar. All the reported potential deals like Turner/Hield, Valenciunas, Vucevic, Richards, Kessler, are passed on for even better ones.
Now pick up Duarte off waivers and trade Kleber for even more pleasant surprises! _________________ When it’s a reasonable possibility, I expect the Lakers to go after a ship like it can’t be denied. I haven’t seen a respectable effort by the Front Office for the last two off seasons nor the last trade deadline. What is going on? |

Yes. It fell in his lap, but he didn't mess it up. Couldn't have handle it better. Used everything at his disposal, including the friendship with other side. How did things not leak? Unreal. _________________ Smrek 2, Nevitt 1, Barkley 0 |

Looks like Lakers are going to contend now and not waiting for next year. |

I like it. They have their entire core next year as well, so two bites at the apple. If they make it to the Finals or win it all, we (bleep) roll again.
If they don't, we can figure out where the Lakers are lacking and who is expendable to upgrade. Though, with so few assets to trade, it'll be hard to upgrade barring using Reaves in a trade |

It's been a while since I've checked but he actually isn't the GM/President of the Hornets anymore. Just an advisor. |

Pelinka is definitely the captain now.
No one heard anything about Luka or Mark Williams lol.
No more (bleep) high school gossip Klutch running the show. |

You Know Rob, just when I think you couldn’t possibly be any dumber, you go and do something like this… and TOTALLY REDEEM YOURSELF! _________________ “The main goal for the Lakers is to win a championship. All I care about, all we care about, is to raise another banner in the rafters.“ |

Dude (bleep) around and turned us into legit contenders
DAYUM
We are the biggest team in the league. Precisely the problem we had against Denver.

Rob deserves a ton of credit. He's essentially done a rebuild of a 29-19 team in the middle of a season. The Lakers have a young core with a young coach and IMO this team gives LeBron a better shot a winning another title. The championship window is wide open. |

Not mad at that. You have to try or you end up like all the other garbage teams who never win. |

We went from a playoff team that upper tier teams could toy with to a legitimate contender.
Getting DFS early on shouldn’t be overlooked in all this. |
