Big props to Pelinka, he’s been doing work in trade talks this season to help us become a contender, I always knew he was intelligent, I don’t think we would have landed Luka if Pelinka wasn’t our GM

Westbrook was like Rob’s 4 Utah airballs
AD and Luka… that’s his back2back

I see where you’re coming from but the sequence is off! Randle/Lopez/Zubac have to be the rookie airballs vs Utah then AD could be Portland playoffs and OT against Indy. Maybe Westbrook and the next two seasons would be like the elimination game vs Detroit and Phoenix where there was a boycott of shooting. Then that makes Luka the back to back lol!

Rob showed what he really thought of this team pre luka. He clearly didn't think we were a contender after getting luka every asset was on the table- I agree with windhorst that reaves has to fit in or he will probably be shopped this summer.

I would have thought so too…that Rob was heckled at first causing the misses…if Rob didn’t shoot so many more bricks and air balls. He followed up with bricks/air balls in Dwight/Magee/Rondo/Schroeder(1st time)/Drummond/Schroeder(2nd time)/No legitimate back up C/JHS instead of Whitmore/a free Valenciunas.

Those follow up bricks seem to show that the initial bricks were at the least partially on him lol! Still, after losing in 08 with Pau (Dlo/Beasley WCF), it seems like he has pulled of an 09 Orlando ship and now we wait to see if he can win the back to back with Luka!

As someone who enjoys coming up with trade scenarios, Reaves better show out because otherwise I'll be putting him in fifteen by the start of 2025 free agency

Now that we're out of assets for a while, no Reaves trades unless we're getting an all-star back.

My guess would be that if Austin is moved, it would be for the opposite. Like a solid role player or two plus a pick or two.

The issue with Austin being the center piece of a trade for an all-star is that he's good enough to be the center piece of the trade, but we'd also have to include additional assets which we don't have.

I think Austin, Rui, and swaps for a good player who wants to make their way to the Lakers works fine. The league is increasingly valuing players over picks., mostly because like 3 teams own all the picks.

He might be right.

Quote:
NBA insider Brian Windhorst told ESPN how the perception of Rob Pelinka has completely flipped.

Speaking to NBA Today, he proclaimed: “I’m going to tell you something that a week ago would have got me ejected from this building.

“Rob Pelinka might win executive of the year…. which nobody would have said.”

He added: “He hired JJ [Redick], he got Luka.”

Why? Because he did his due diligence and didn't cave to a bad deal?

Rob had a package of Knecht, a 2031 1st and filler targeting multiple players.

Turner, Kessler, to name a few.

Charlotte called about Knecht and Rob asked for Williams. I wish the Williams trade had happened Sunday, so the Lakers could have pivoted on Tuesay or Wednesday to a new target, but alas it is too late.

I'm not sure Williams was the crunch time guy anyway.

Just go with Luka, AR, Lebron, DFS, and Rui or Vando.

Sign Theis or Bamba and we will be okay.

Because he shelled out all of our remaining assets for damaged goods. There's a reason Charlotte approached him for the deal.

The trade getting rescinded is bad for this year but very good in the offseason.

Can package Kleber. Vincent, Knecht, and some picks for a much better player.

He made the trade contingent on the physical, hence the canceled trade

Shams said Pelinka made a clause in the deal that it was contingent on Williams passing a physical. He gave himself an out in case they lied. Funny thing is they did lie and because of said clause he tore up the deal

Just like I said earlier today, some are just foaming at the mouth for a reason to attack him.. It's weird and unhealthy. You don't have to think he's great or anything but some of these posts are a bit wild.

"Luka falling in his lap" is a clown response anyways and especially if you're a Lakers fan on a message board, you should know the true story by now...
