Wow Lebron is actually nailing free throws. Didn't think I'd see that.

The upside to having a foot injury like Lebron has is that he can still work on his shooting like you see here. He barely has to move his foot at all. I always think of Ariza coming back from his foot injury and becoming a guy who could shoot the 3.

Already been determined he will be out for another couple weeks. Why would he suit up? He just got off the boot.

I'f he starts ramping up next week then he might be back in that 3 weeks mark.

Dave McMenamin of ESPN reported that Lebron will be reevaluated in a week and a half. It looks like end of March is the earliest possible return date. I doubt they can be precise because they have to see how his foot responds as he begins running and putting pressure on it. But the fact that he shot a few free throws and took off the boot doesn't signal his return is imminent.

He has to run, jump, engage in basketball activities for more than 18 seconds and then see how his foot responds. Zero chance he comes back before end of March.

If we can’t make the play in tournament without him there no chance we can do anything in the playoffs anyway and no point even in risking him. Rest up in the off season, get surgery, whatever and come back next year hopefully with most of this squad intact and a full training camp.

If Lakers actually make it to the playoffs as 7 or 8 seed then it may me worth suiting up. Beating Denver or whoever is the second seed make a title run realistic regardless of home court.

He won’t be medically cleared to return to the court for at least another 2-3 weeks.

Hes been doing physical therapy and being re-evaluated in a week and a half. From there, if it goes well, he can begin the ramping up the basketball activities to get back onto the court. He’s been out awhile, it’s gonna take a bit to game him back into game shape.

Idk what other videos of him are out there, I just seen him shooting free throws without the boot. That doesn’t say a whole lot about his recovery. We’ll see what the medical staff says when they check his foot next week. Hopefully he’ll be able to participle in practice soon

he even squatting earlier while celebrating on the bench. I think he doesn't feel any pain in his foot anymore to be able to that.

It's hard to do this pose if you're ankle still hurting. He basically put a weight in his right foot by squatting like that. I think Bron will come back soon.

If LeBron can return at 90% of himself by the end of the regular season, that is a win imo. It's about sustained, consistent, effectiveness. It's not about rushing back asap.

LeBron James is ‘not close’ to returning, per Winhorst

“LeBron is not close to returning from what I'm told. I know everybody said the three weeks, but I think it was very clear three weeks is when he will get an official reevaluation. It didn't mean he was coming back in three weeks.”

This isn’t news, and “not close” is incredibly vague. How does Windy define ‘close’?

In two days, it will be exactly three weeks since his injury. In six days, on March 23rd, it will be exactly three weeks since the Lakers announced the three-week-to-reevaluation timeline. Will he be back within six days? Nobody expected that. So, in that sense, one can argue that it’s accurate to say he’s “not close.”

However, could he be back by March 31st or April 2nd? It may be in play. He needs to be reevaluated in six days, and then we’ll learn more.

i don't think that will be the case. i think the 2021 playoff version of him was about 60-70% of himself with that high ankle sprain. 90-100% Lebron would've singlehandly beaten the Suns. this year, that foot injury sounds very bad, and i doubt he would come close to 90%, i think 70-80% would be the best we can hope for.
i do believe he will play as long as it doesn't make the injury worse.
